That would be perfect! I’m glad they get to be part of the Super Bowl, even though I personally am not a football fan. I know that some of them are sports fans, so it’s probably a fun thing for them to be in. I don’t think as many people will watch the opening ceremony as will watch half time, but it will still be a good audience. However, I have low expectations of them making a big political statement other than the lyrics of their songs. I imagine if they get time to speak, Billie will say something about taking care of each other, or something along those lines. But definitely nothing like a “No Trump, no kkk” chant. But I would love to be proven wrong!

I woke up to an Instagram DM from someone I used to work with saying she's been thinking about me because she's learning drums and her teacher's favourite band is also Green Day. She said she's been learning a lot of Green Day and asked my favourite albums, so we'll see if she sends me something she's learned at some point

I live kind of in the middle of nowhere in an old mining village and I've only ever heard Green Day playing once outside my house when in about 2012 my neighbour's son drove up blasting Basket Case. However I was just going into the village store today when Minority blasted out from a car. I got so excited

Rob Zombie's new song is called "I'm a Rock N Roller" and he sings "I'm an alligator / I'm a space invader" and all I can think of is Foxboro Hot Tubs.

I think Billie starts the song, then Jakob starts singing at the line “And you, you can be mean.” Then they switch back and forth a couple of times.

Absolutely. I always come on here first for updates and announcements, and they are always reliable. greenday.fm & greenday.com are always days behind any announcement on here. Wouldn't surprise me if the band come on here first as well to check out what's happening. lol. 😁😁

It sounds to me like Jakob sings lead for roughly the first half and Billie takes over after that and Jakob switches to harmony vocal. I’d need to listen carefully again to pinpoint that but I’m fairly sure of it. Edit: pretty sure Billie takes over at 3:15 with the line “I, I will be king”.

What? I didn't even know Jakob was singing on it. But my brother and dad sound exactly the same when they sing even though they don't when they talk so that could be the case here It's a cool cover, a big song to tackle but they pull it off well! Yes that is a good description of the vocals here, sounds very different
