    Warning 2025 Remaster?

Just now getting around to listening to all the new stuff (I'm a patient fan, I like to take my time). I thought it was interesting that more of the demos were written in first person. I always wondered if was referring to the band itself. It just seemed like such a pointed line to write at that point in their career. They were in such a vice at the time. The subgenre you helped pioneer is still popular but you need to evolve as artists and if you go back and make Dookie Pt. II it might be well received but it's an implicit admission that 'yep, these are all the tricks we have in the bag'. Especially after making such a musically expansive record as Nimrod. Warning didn't set the world on fire but they'd be damned if they'd play to type and do what's been done. That's why they've had staying power in the long term.

Once you know guitar, bass is sooo easy hahah. I see why it may seem a bit more challenging, thicker strings, etc etc haha. I started out on guitar and used Marty to learn my first Green Day song heheh. But before that I printed chord charts and it helped sooo much. Once you know chords you can play any song you look up in minutes, and not sit through a 30 minute long guitar lesson. I am glad you're liking it .

  6. I think the boys need a little media training. I’m sure they are at a point in their career where they don’t care about press stuff, and I respect that, but I feel like every interview with them nowadays is so awkward to the point where I can’t even watch

Random Green Day News - 2025

I actually looked at some music schools here in town. But then I really didn’t like the thought of having to go there every week at a fixed time. It’s so unflexible. And expensive! Then I went to YouTube, there seem to be millions of guitar lesson videos there. And in all this chaos I found two „guitar teachers“ I like, Marty and Stuart: Marty‘s lessons feel comfortable to me because he‘s so calm and reassuring. But the second one, Stuart, is simply hilarious. I could watch his videos just for the fun of it. Both have a bunch of videos on YouTube (also tutorials for GD songs, I hope I will come to them some time in the future 😅). And they have beginner courses you have to pay for (not too expensive I think) which I have bought. I try to practice every day for some time, and I really like it!🥰 Edit: Maybe I should have written all this in the guitar thread…😅 Sorry!

It's from an interview around the time of Broadway Idiot if I remember correctly. Someone is asking Billie about how he feels about the the album being made into a musical (if I remember correctly the whole scene) and he's struggling to find the words, and Mike comes to the rescue, gives him a hug and a peck on the cheek while answering the question for him. It lives rent free in my mind, but I cannot remember the source interview right now, so I'm having a hard time finding another link for it

This bass looks fantastic but I don’t think I‘ll try it.😅 A few weeks ago I started with guitar and it’s challenging enough. But it’s fun and I love it!

    Calling all Guitar Players!

Glad my thread resurrected, hahah! Wow I haven't posted anything on here in a hot minute...I guess I'll give an update I have gotten three more guitars (two electric, one acoustic). One of the electrics were gifted to me, and the other was on sale at Guitar Center. The acoustic electric was a used guitar at Guitar Center, but I have to buy a new battery slot for it because it was gone when I got it . So yah, two Epiphones, one Cort. I got a new amp as well because the one I got from a pawn shop was trash. Its a fender rumble 25. Great amp . The Guitar Center near me was so fun when I went a year ago. Now the employees are trash, except for one guy who was the only one helping me. I wasn't planning on buying anything, but I started to play American Idiot on guitar, and this random guy just joined me on bass. We both started singing too, hahha. Magical. Glad there's still some cool people near me, haha .

I love bass you should try it, it's such a fun instrument. I want it, but it's pretty expensive I am just now watching that video, and that bass is crisp

    Warning 2025 Remaster?

I enjoyed listening to the live in tokyo from the warning boxset than the live albums from nimrod and dookie (except you woodstock 94 you're a legend)

    Green Day Q&A Thread

Someone who was a full adult at the time with a good memory, do you remember the day the band announced American Idiot? I know that the single came out on August 6th but what about the aesthetic (new logo cover ecc...) ? I'm curious cause it was the first time the band took such a change in their career.

Tune in tokyo + f.o.d. and she live from poprocks & coke single from same concert than warning 25 have either much more sound quality

    Warning 2025 Remaster?

Not sure I even think live stuff is necessarily added value TBH. Many of their performances have been bootlegged and shared to death on the internet since the days of P2P like Kazaa and Limewire and much of it has migrated over to YouTube. Unless it's absolutely exceptional quality like BIAB, this stuff ain't worth bundling in. The Warning anniversary live set is no better than anything you can find out there for free. I'm pretty sure I have a "Tune In, Tokyo" CD lying around here from the same tour, it's from 2001 and is no worse in quality.

    Warning 2025 Remaster?

Give it twenty years 🙂 Personally I love the new songs but tbf you can’t compare a new deluxe edition of an already new album with an anniversary boxset
  24. nowshesgone

    Warning 2025 Remaster?

that or demos+Ballyhoo and maybe Underdog and or Fuck Off (because there still needs to be a bad song on the deluxe)
  25. Mollyluna

    Warning 2025 Remaster?

I don’t know… I really love Ballyhoo, Belushi and Underdog. So for me the deluxe was worth it. As for the live show I so much hope for a Saviors live album plus DVD! Maybe for Christmas…?
  26. The Grohl

    Warning 2025 Remaster?

Honestly the quality of those songs were not worth the deluxe release imo. If they would've thrown in a live show it would make that release feel worth it to me.

    Warning 2025 Remaster?

do keep in mind that there were some tapes that were damaged also those 3 unheard of songs that we've heard for a while that werent in the box are closely tied into Cigarettes and Valentines, so theres that as well overall, im glad it isnt Anthology 4 (which was a fucking shitshow)

As a huge fan of a good Billie-Mike bromance moment, I can say this is true, but also that bar is not very high
