  1. Past hour
  2. Agreed, and the whole k pop thing was deliberately awkward too. I think they just don’t buy in to all the nonsense at award shows etc.
  3. I think that's the best thing because unless you happened to have seen the film and remember it really well you'd have no clue so like 99% of the audience there probably had no idea . They thrive on awkwardness lol I wish I could find the clip (I think it was only on Instagram) but one of my favourite recent awkward humour moments was in one of the red carpet interviews last year when the interviewer asked Billie if he had any advice for someone looking for love and he immediately started singing his song from when he was 5 years old "Look For Love" and then told people to google the song lmao

  5. Oh!!! Thanks for clarifying! I did not get the reference at all. That's hilarious though
  6. It's from the film Boogie Nights when Mark Wahlberg's character accepts an award for being a pornstar
  7. I think they have likely had some media training, no record label would have let them get this far without it. Whether they pay a lot of attention to it, that’s different. I think they are just themselves and relish the weird interviews. Imagine how odd it would be if they suddenly became super slick spewing sound bites….yeuch!
  8. Is there a source for them not having media training? I’m seeing it here in this thread a few times and to me, especially since the AI tour, a lot of their interviews have come off very media trained in terms of messaging. They’re always their usual goofy selves, and having media training doesn’t necessarily mean “fake”, but if they’re at an event to promote something they’re gonna do it AFAIK. I’d be shocked if this ended up being true, especially after the interviews the Saviors tour has brought in

I like some songs but could have been a standalone ep release

  12. I‘m quite sure this was the case, he seemed to have problems deciphering it…😂 And I think Billie maybe lost a bet against them and had to do this. His „Okay okay, I‘ll do it“ at the beginning. 😆
  13. I've never had an issue with their interviews, but I do understand where the comment is coming from. I hope they never get any media training though, keeps it more genuine, even if a lot of the time they are just joking around to get out of giving a serious answer to a question. This was gold! I choose to believe Mike and/or Tre wrote that and Billie was reading it for the first time I especially love the "you know"
  14. I think awkward humour is just their thing and always has been lol If it's specifically about that recent interview I think the most awkward thing was the interviewer constantly complimenting them and saying how amazing they are, along with the film promotion stuff it just wasn't the most natural conversation. But in general they've always used awkward humour. They don't need to be fake and press trained
  15. In my opinion it’s allowed to be silly at any age. And why should they care. Not doing the expected / appropriate things is punk… I loved this so much:

At some point in the early 00s I got a bootlegged set, probably from the P2P file sharing platforms everyone used back then. The show was small if I recall - probably from the early 90s pre-Dookie. During a lull in the show when they're doing a bit of audience chat, the quiet murmuring is interrupted by a man in the crowd very loudly shouting "YOU CARPET BASTARD," to which Mike replies - and I'm paraphrasing here - "Me? I've got nothing to do with carpets. I play music" My friend at the time and I used to regularly call each other carpet bastards as a result and every now and then it'll pop into my head. Carpet bastard. That bootleg was lost and I've never heard it since. I wonder what carpet bastard guy is doing nowadays? I'm probably the only person on the planet who regularly thinks about that particular moment in time, and I wonder whether he's aware his insult that day lives rent free in my head?
  17. Agree - I think it's more to do with them just becoming middle-aged and not being able to use goofing around as much as a crutch in interviews. They're older dudes who can't get away with that stuff anymore.

i like to think that billie used to follow the hanky code. like he is openly admitting to being a bottom its a little funny to think of. but it's a dotted bandana... and he stopped using putting it in his pocket a while ago anyways, i doubt it actually is for that purpose

I know exactly the clip @Cris. is talking about, it lives in my mind too, I love it! Thanks both for clarifying.

I know EXACTLY what this feels like lol! I love that .
  24. I think their Q101 interview had a few awkward moments. I don't know if I blame them, the interviewer or simply the fact that awkward moments happen to all of us. Do you have any examples?

Do you know that feeling when you wake up and have the urgent need to listen to certain songs? It’s RevRad day today here!🥰 Besides I remembered that about this time two years ago I bought the tickets for the GD Berlin show of 2024. (Because I wanted to see the opening band, shame on me…😅) How could I know then what a fascinating journey would begin this way? Bit sentimental today, sorry… Have a nice Sunday, all of you!

    Warning 2025 Remaster?

Just now getting around to listening to all the new stuff (I'm a patient fan, I like to take my time). I thought it was interesting that more of the demos were written in first person. I always wondered if was referring to the band itself. It just seemed like such a pointed line to write at that point in their career. They were in such a vice at the time. The subgenre you helped pioneer is still popular but you need to evolve as artists and if you go back and make Dookie Pt. II it might be well received but it's an implicit admission that 'yep, these are all the tricks we have in the bag'. Especially after making such a musically expansive record as Nimrod. Warning didn't set the world on fire but they'd be damned if they'd play to type and do what's been done. That's why they've had staying power in the long term.

Once you know guitar, bass is sooo easy hahah. I see why it may seem a bit more challenging, thicker strings, etc etc haha. I started out on guitar and used Marty to learn my first Green Day song heheh. But before that I printed chord charts and it helped sooo much. Once you know chords you can play any song you look up in minutes, and not sit through a 30 minute long guitar lesson. I am glad you're liking it .

  29. I think the boys need a little media training. I’m sure they are at a point in their career where they don’t care about press stuff, and I respect that, but I feel like every interview with them nowadays is so awkward to the point where I can’t even watch
