I’d take it! I agree with @solongfromthestars re the Trilogy and think with time people will come to FOA which I have defended many times too.

I think it's just that a lot of people hated it because of the circumstances when they wouldn't have hated it otherwise, but now the circumstances are a distant memory so those people are able to enjoy it. It was also uncool to like it when it came out, but most fans will have grown out of that by now or if they're new, they don't know that was even a thing. I've been a trilogy defender from the start and I'm glad people are realising how great it is! Billie's best love songs are on those albums and Love is for Losers. I'd take it for Meet Me on the Roof and Nightlife. I can always go for a toilet break during Teenage Teenager and What Else Are Junkies On? -

Father Of All is probably why tbh

I would do disgusting, horrible things to hear 8th Avenue Serenade played live. On that topic, I wonder why the trilogy has become a fan favorite. Rose colored glasses? Not that I’m complaining, that’s the first project I was a fan for from beginning to end so it has a very special place in my heart. It just seems to have the widest variance between general reception and fan opinion.

My bf called me out the other day. He made fun of my fan girlisms by going "ooo Billie is so hawt. Oh Billie Joe is soooo cute." Glad he thinks so too 😆

That was a massive show! Without several eyewitnesses AND complete recordings I wouldn't have believed people, just looking at the setlist. -

I'd take American Eulogy over anything else. It's one of their two best live songs along with Forever Now. Wouldn't be hard to change the problematic lyric. I would also love more trilogy (8th Avenue Serenade!!!!!!) but I'm sure I've said that before -

i mean, dont we have the full audio from this show (including covers)? really feel like it was pointless though to throw on ABM from this show as a bonus to the AI20 doc instead of like Take Back -

Awesome find! However, I do not like his comment regarding the Warfield recordings (the part where he says we will never see the rest of it) 😂😒 -

I’ve been seeing various things that there has been a lot of misinformation about this so not sure what the truth is. -

I think Mike said something once like "if we find something more fun to do we'll do that but until then..." So true, if you got to be onstage playing like that, why would you retire?

Thanks for replying, and in such detail, I really appreciate it. I think it would be hard to be welcoming and buddy buddy constantly, especially on a tour like that where you're living on top of people. Though I remember watching the behind the scenes thing at the time and thinking, I bet Green Day insisted on playing first just to show up Blink182 😆 -
As I’ve said in some other thread, I will be staying at the stage all day. Screw alcohol and food. I will be trying to be as close as possible. And I shall convince Green Day that they need a 4th live guitarist thank you very much.

Solution: update the lyrics to be more topical. It works for American Idiot, why not American Eulogy? "Because the martyr is a compulsive liar when he said it's just a bunch of Antifa throwing gas into the hysteria" In reality it'll never happen because adding it back into the setlist would just kick up dust and cause a controversy that they do not need. Still a pump-ass song though.

Hitchin' a Ride is one of the "deep cuts" more likely to be played on any given night because it was a live staple for so, so long that people still know it. Are they even doing encores anymore? I thought it pretty much went straight from Bobby Sox into Good Riddance, with no pause for an encore. St. Jimmy works by itself. Not every song has to fit a narrative all the time. In live shows, it's a quick little "go fucking mental" number played for a crowd that's just waiting for excuses to go fucking mental. If it were ten minutes long, I'd get dropping it. Speaking of ten-minute-long songs... BLASPHEMY Mine typically happen because I'm listening to an album and go, "Oh, hey, you know what would sound really good and fit well right here?". It's not really an intentional thing, it just happens when I come across a little chain of songs that works well together. The title track from Warning? Nah. They should play Minority more often instead. But seriously, Waiting needs a lot more love than it gets, if we're talking about underplayed songs. Also, someone please bribe Billie Joe to put American Eulogy back in the set. He doesn't have to mention who's throwing gas into the hysteria. -
