Green Day and Counting Crows play Super Bowl Concert Feb 6 - San Francisco Pier 29
Luna Jinx replied to desertrose's topic in Green Day Chat
I would like to know how or why they’re doing this. Who gets the invites? Why are they doing this? Spreading the good word of Green Day and maybe enlightening new fans is a good idea. Or it’s a cash grab. Wish we had a fly on the wall at the meetings for this event. -
You’re welcome! I‘m glad you like it!😀

...So a while ago my nimrod jewel case broke. Hinge fell off i don't know where when lettng my friend borrow it and the case just looked like shit. Had to replace the case myself... Since the replacement jewel cases i have has those black opaque back covers (is that what you call it??) i had to swap them out and perform surgery. Fun! Now it doesn't need to fall apart when i grab it. My radiohead cd needed this treatment months ago, i still need to do that...

Thats awesome! i feel like its really important to learn the music so when your casually listening you enjoy and appreciate so much more. I had a similar experience with writing a school essay about their lyrics when i went back and listened it felt way better!

Then to give American Idiot its props, I decided to try to learn Give Me Novacaine on guitar today. I always thought it was a very good song but I appreciate it much more now. Deceptively simple, yet powerful. The melody is so so beautiful. Never in a million years would I pull that gorgeous intro out of just a few chords. Playing music has deepened my connection to (especially) Green Day’s songs in a way that I really didn’t think was possible. A bright spot in dark times.

Love the bit in there about Billie Joe’s songwriting, couldn’t agree more, he’s brilliant.

You're right. But don't worry, i didn't mean "oh thats silly, you CANT do that" silly, just "oh that's kinda funny" silly But it is true. There's a lot of stuff to look at since i've only started so recently. I found it a bit overwhelming at first and just listened to whatever i found. If you're interested at all, it kinda went like this: "Oh hey, green day has a cool side project! I like side projects. Watch foxboro hottubs live, and "oh look, what's fuck time?" And that happens to be age restricted. Oh, it's on dos! I love nightlife. Oh, billie has a movie he stars in? I love the longshot and ordinary world now. Oh, look, they have another side project! I love the network." And be aware i listened to st jimmy a day before watching that movie too. It just didn't stick. The problem is that i had nothing to connect american idiot to. I love movies and side projects. But where's american idiot? On youtube. Like, just sitting on youtube on a hundred billion different not-really-special to watch green day concerts (unless you were there). I had nothing special to connect american idiot to, and that's what made listening to everything else fun. You could say "c&v!" But what am i connecting c&v to? It's populariy? Influence? I definitely wasn't born for the release either. But i was able to connect to other parts of green day just fine because they were parts of more media i was familiar with... It wasn't really that i was choosing anything but american idiot, it was that i would choose american idiot if it weren't for the lack of connection. There's a movie i watched that had holiday in it. If i watched it any earlier i'd love american idiot much faster. Anyways, i love dos. End of story. I'm enjoying n that's all that matters.

Working Class Hero was never released losslessly...?
Nezirath270 replied to RongoIK's topic in Green Day Chat
Okay i'll defend OP saying it's not lossy. Many official cd (but not majority) releases do have a lossy audio or doesn't reach the 44.1khz region on it. No you're not crazy . It happens and it's weird. -

I kind of love this song, so catchy! Definitely not the most genius Green Day lyrics, but still 😅 Nope, also love it. Okay so my favorites from that album are: Father of all Oh Yeah I Was a Teenage Teenager Junkies on High Take the Money and Crawl I like Graffitia too, but it feels too normal for this album... like I can perfectly imagine it being in Rev Rad, but in FOAM it feels kind of out of place 😅 I think I actually really like this album, but it's definitely not in the first 5 albums I'd use to introduce someone to Green Day... and now I have to listen to it 😁

Your not silly. You GD journey started only recently. You have such a variety of records to choose from the band's vast discography which is cool. From studio albums, compilations, live albums, and many side projects. You get to decide which record to listen to next. Nothing can be more exciting. Enjoy.

Thank you ❤️ it definitely went that way for me early on in my drawing stage but i found references get very useful at some point. Definitely try it out if you ever wanna do something a bit more complicated
-
ofc!! <33 real same!! i dont think ive used a ref once in my life TvT yeah, he is pretty hard to draw from memory for me, i should probs start using refs for him too XD lol your so lucky it took me ages to figure out how to draw hands XD
-
https://share.google/BfllpcXqECNaCiQgB Billie Joe photo Nimrod era. Hope it helps.
-
thanks so much, lol it definitely took me a while to accurately draw hands, but mysteriously i've always somewhat been okay at drawing them... so be envious, because i drew the hands here without a single inch of proper guidelines (which i usually actual fail at doing with more complex positions) i'm a big eyeballer when it comes to drawing. even the entire face was eyeballed...
-
Mo worries about his hair. Look at his hands. My art teacher told me after the face, the human hand is so difficult to copy and get the proportion right. I could never master it. Especially I struggled with thumbs. However, your hand drawing is perfect. In proportion with each finger and thumb. I'm impressed, just a tad envious. lol.
