definitely agree about this ! i'm more than certain father of all got a shit ton of backlash too and that's probably what created saviors. do new stuff on the trilogy, get like 1.5/5 on ratings for all of them or something around that then make RR to please your fans. then do new stuff on father of all, get 1.5/5 on ratings for it or something around that then make saviors to please your fans. and i'm pretty sure father of all was one of billies favourite records he'd put out too. poor guy. bobby sox is something i had to let grow on me. i didn't like it much. i think father of all isn't actually objectively shit like a bunch of people say. i think i could let that album grow on me if it weren't for the claps. stab you in the heart is a bit of a recent ear worm i've had. can't wait to see what they'll do for the new album!

Another random thought while listening to Green Day. Father of All Motherfuckers is likely a result from Revolution Radio being the first time the band backtracked in their career. It was constant evolution and forward momentum until the backlash from the trilogy. Don’t get me wrong, Revolution Radio still brought fresh ideas, but it was a return to a more familiar sound. Father of All Motherfuckers was a return to doing new things and trying to continue an evolution, even if it was unsuccessful. (This might be obvious, but it sounds profound in my state of mind right now ha)

Listening to Saviors on a new pair of over the ear headphones I got for Christmas and man did they deliver such a treat of an album. They did not have to do this. I had a couple of drinks and am dancing around to a bunch of the songs. They are masters man.

I completely forgot there was a 2026 live date scheduled I had to look up the details again. I hope we get some video I miss them. There’s not even a thread for this appearance maybe we should have one

The concerts in Vienna. I mean we got 2 (two!!) solo Green Day shows. Doesn't happen that often that international bands play some extra shows here..

Definitely all the live shows I went to were a highlight. Getting 86, Waiting, Forever Now, I Was There. The anti-ICE chant during Holiday in Amsterdam was also a highlight, so cathartic. And meeting / seeing again so many great people I have met through this band. Definitely a highlight for me too 😁 It was a really well spent afternoon with great company.

Making a top #3... 01 Watching Green Day in Santiago, Chile (+ Haushinka live and the ending with Time of your life, it was so emotional) 02 Warning 25th release (I know it's not perfect, but I love this record since it was released in 2000, and it was the first one for me as a fan. When I got my Warning 25 CD copy, it came so many memories from 2000's) 03 Saviors tour anouncement for Southamerica (I was in my B-day day, not a good day at all to be honest, until I watched that tweet with the OEB walking with Southamerican flags at the back... I cried in Chilean Spanish "POR FIN CONCHETUMAREEEE!! which means "Finally, motherf*ckers!!")
