Then I came back to that one a month or two ago and fixed it up a little Now i'm happy...

I'm pretty sure they have mics just for the band to hear. I saw this with mcr but i'm not sure for others

There’s also a backwards facing mic onstage for this purpose that lets him talk directly into their ear monitors

My guess is Billie decides and somehow communicates it to the rest of the band? I‘ve seen videos where he talks to Kevin in between songs for example.

I don’t expect to hear a cover at that occasion. They are booked for their own hits. And there are enough to fit the bill. I‘d love to hear 21CB but don’t expect that either, unfortunately. It will be some of the major hits like AI and Holiday.

Hope they come out with a song like or tribute to Cranberries Zombie. Say what needs to be said.

Kind of when they did a football thing around 2000. I'm sure everyone has seen all the articles/headlines around this but this one caught my eye as it says the performance will be "without tape delay or an editing safety net"! Ok, link won't work, so it's "NFL green day, politics, and the super bowl: what the NFL just signed up for" if you are interested.

Bobby Sox > Coming Clean for Bisexual anthems they’ve done. Maybe it’s because I’m older now and no longer strung out on confusion about how I work. Coming Clean feels anxious and unsettled about it, Bobby Sox feels secure and sweet.

My prediction: American Idiot Holiday When I Come Around I think they’ll do something outside of their usual bag of tricks akin to the 2016 VMAs without like calling for the proletarian revolution or anything like that (although to quote the immortal Wooderson “it’d be a lot cooler if you did”). Just enough to get the point across, not enough to damage the overall Green Day brand. Part of me definitely wants Billie in burning Spin magazine and biting from the hand that feeds mode though. But he’s sober and in his 50s now. Gotta temper expectations somewhat.
