Green Day will open the Super Bowl 2026
Tre's Busted Drumkit replied to Mollyluna's topic in Green Day Chat
Pretty much lol Just play Holiday five times. Dedicate it to a different person each time, and give a different person the floor each time around. The homophobic slur in there can be easily replaced with other slurs each time. - Today

I loved that song and most of Father of All.

I feel the same. On social media there is so much excitement about their performance and really high expectations. I hope the band doesn’t feel pressured too much. I hope they‘ll manage to have a great performance with a message!
-
I think im a little scared and excited for how green day will present themselves during the performance. It seems like there's going to be a bit (or maybe even a lot) of control involved in this and if that's so they're obviously going to find a way to put a message out in one way or another
-
Very likely, especially since the song can also be interpreted in a sports context. It's a perfect double entendre. Remember this promo from back in 2009?
-
I have no idea what an “MVP” is or whatever it is but depending on the set up GD may be there almost as background music, the focus may be more on the other people so it could be a difficult line for them. If they go off script it could look disrespectful but that hopefully won’t stop them playing at least one song with a clear message, or maybe a message in a t-shirt depending on how dance Billie decides to dress.

Today I woke up with the song Dream Catcher in my head!😊 It’s not that surprising, listened to it twice on YT yesterday before going to bed: First one is AI. I hate AI but in this case I can accept it. It’s such a beautiful song, I‘d die for an official release. I think I even dreamt about it. Isn’t it fitting, I had Dream Catcher in my dreams….
-
But isn’t the lead vocal the „dangerous“ part in a GD performance?😂 Yes, and he said something like „we mustn’t say“, probably because it wasn’t official at that moment.

Green Day and Counting Crows play Super Bowl Concert Feb 6 - San Francisco Pier 29

This event seems so weird to me. It’s not for fans, and Spotify is not a good company. The people that are there probably won’t even have any appreciation of what they’re getting. I’m really surprised they’re doing this one. -
I think i only tolerate i was a teenage teenager (as mentioned before) and sugar youth. I would say stab you in the heart too but i dont like the recycling
-
The cringy lyrics are actually why I kind of like it. Gotta embrace the cringe sometimes hahah. Other than that I really like Oh Yeah, Junkies On A High and Grafittia. Might not be their best but it's still a fun album.
-
i think my top 3 might be a bit basic but 1. Sugar Youth 2. Take The Money and Crawl 3. Graffitia also i really hope Super Bowl gets green day back on the announcement train, there really hasnt been that much to talk about since like, Warning 25 dropped outside of shows and whatnot

Green Day will open the Super Bowl 2026

Likely. I knew someone who was invited to be on the field for a Super Bowl halftime show. They had very specific instructions about where to stand, when to move and what to do. If the Green Day show is being televised, I can't imagine the NFL wanting anything less than total control. And by total control, I mean total. They made Flea pre-record his parts and play unplugged for RHCP's halftime show because they didn't want any chance of anything being fucked up. Basically the only music actually being performed live at most Super Bowl performances is the drums and the lead vocal. - Yesterday

Honestly, a version I hadn't even thought of. But one that is most likely, I think. Fun article though.

I just had a dream i was watching the latest green day show on my computer because i didnt go there. Mike was passing by for some reason, saw it, and talked to me. That was cool
-
I don't believe so. There was an interview for iHeart, and they asked about the Super Bowl invite only thing, but it seemed like Billie was going to talk about the super bowl performance. I think he tried to say it twice or so before he realized that they were asking about the party beforehand.
-
Someone mentioned the possibility of the invite only concert this week being what gets aired before the Super Bowl. Thoughts?
-
Thanks! damn 😭 ...i've got no motivation, where is my motivation, no time for no motivation, smokin my inspiration ...

Everyone thinks the same. Can we all just take a short moment to enjoy the comment section of this video?

Listening to music is a great way to process emotions, and anger is no exception. Sometimes, all we need is to blast our favorite tunes out loud and channel our rage through them. Indeed, doing this can be quite cathartic, so without further delay, here are some of the best angry songs to help you blow off some steam. In at number 10:- 'Basket Case' by Green Day "Do you have the time to listen to me whine / About nothing and everything all at once?" Green Day's 1994 tune is great to let it all out to. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/entertainment/music/the-best-angry-songs-to-vent-your-rage-to/ss-AA1e6xzh?ocid=msedgntp&pc=EDGEDB&cvid=697c7169b9284ff3979c6f698954e347&ei=23#image=10

No, I like that too! And Graffitia and Stab you in the Heart and Junkies on a High. To be honest I like the whole album. My least favorite song is the title track, of all things...

am i the only one who kinda liked "oh yeah!" ??
