Pod Save America, the hosts are kinda dubbed the Obama Bros cause they worked for that admin. I’m much more to the left of them but joined their discord to see what people who listen to them think and it’s been so entertaining that I’ve stuck with it.

I really hope we can see/hear this done how at some point!

What podcast is it?

I am keeping my expectations low and I am just excited to see a Green Day performance. I don't think there's any reason to be anxious for this performance. My only hope is that people won't hate on them if the performance doesn't meet people's expectations.

They have hit the mark hard and definitely have been heard in the past but they’ve been a little tone deaf on what it’s like to actually live as a poor or marginalized group. They are not poor and have been protected by wealth and yes people around them and people that don’t know any better either. There’s no way to avoid it with the way they are and always surrounded by the same people and sheltered/protected lifestyle. There’s no point in risking too much or needing to lawyer-up for anything. Costs too much. They are a great band and they do a lot more than most. However, they do have filters and they do seem to keep their guards up. I doubt anything super groundbreaking or shattering will happen with the Super Bowl performance. They’ll do a great job and continue with their normal routine. From a semi-casual fan something big might be expected to shake up political and entertainment media. As a seasoned fan, I’m not expecting anything too much. A great performance and not much more.

The expectations seems crazy. I’m in a discord for a political podcast and people seem to think Green Day will really put the fire to the Trump admin and I’ve had friends tell me the same. I just don’t see it. I love the band (obviously, I mean, I’m on here 😂) but besides changing a lyric in AI and/or Holiday I don’t see the rebellion that I think a lot of people are expecting from this band.

I would like to know how or why they’re doing this. Who gets the invites? Why are they doing this? Spreading the good word of Green Day and maybe enlightening new fans is a good idea. Or it’s a cash grab. Wish we had a fly on the wall at the meetings for this event.

...So a while ago my nimrod jewel case broke. Hinge fell off i don't know where when lettng my friend borrow it and the case just looked like shit. Had to replace the case myself... Since the replacement jewel cases i have has those black opaque back covers (is that what you call it??) i had to swap them out and perform surgery. Fun! Now it doesn't need to fall apart when i grab it. My radiohead cd needed this treatment months ago, i still need to do that...

Thats awesome! i feel like its really important to learn the music so when your casually listening you enjoy and appreciate so much more. I had a similar experience with writing a school essay about their lyrics when i went back and listened it felt way better!
