Well, if you speak about remixes from Nimrod era, these are the best ones!! (And I really wanted them on Nimrod XXV) And, this has nothing to do with Nimrod, but I wanted to include it here... shitty movie, amazing remix!!
-
I always assumed there was just two edits made. Any variation of "#2" is the later remix. The green CD is just the radio edit of the album mix that replaces "shit" with a breaking glass sound effect. I noticed that CDr on Discogs; the mention of it being a remix means it's likely the same Steve Holroyd remix as the other #2 CDs. That, and it being a new remix by Richard Dodd. I was just talking about his Nimrod remixes in another thread. I can barely discern it, but apparently there's more bass and snare clarity.

That helps; the version that's live from Barcelona on the Dookie boxset has a duration of 3:39, which could very well be the 3:41 version, since a couple seconds is negligible. I forgot the When I Come Around single had songs from the Aragon Ballroom show on it. Obviously that one was professionally recorded, but I'm surprised so few tracks were officially released.

Hi guys... today there was this bug with a broken leg jumping around in me and my friends classroom. Basically we were asking the bug questions like "Jump if you like green day" then it jumps "Jump if you like billie joe armstrong " then it jumps and then the tragic bit 😭 "jump if youd make out with billie joe". And it just fucking dies on the spot. It died. As soon as i asked the question. we named him dead grohl. rip dead grohl

yeah, that's it basically.

Unknown Recording of "Going to Pasalacqua"
Insomniac1984 replied to Mega Man's topic in Green Day Chat
As far as I know, all the promos from Dookie era which has live tracks are from Jannus Landing or Woodstock or Aragon Ballroom in Chicago in 1994. And there was a Warner Compilation called trademark of quality, and its version from 1994 has a live version of 2000 Light Years Away from the Garatge Barcelona 94. Other shows were not considered to release live tracks in that era. -
Geat question. Dind' know about this cd

Looking for some help from the music collectors out there; what recording of "Going to Pasalacqua" is featured on the Spanish Longview radio single? The CD just says its duration is 4:21, so it's definitely a live version. You'd think it would be the standard B-side recording in most other territories, that being the live recording from Jannuf Landing, St Petersburg, Florida on March 11th 1994. The problem is the duration discrepancy; that version of "Going to Pasalacqua" clocks in at 4:12. This leads to the possibility of it merely being a typo, seeing how it's easy to goof up 4:12 as 4:21. I believe all B-side live tracks for Dookie were taken from the Florida show, so I'm leaning towards that being the answer. Maybe they chose to include more on stage banter? I'd investigate this myself, but the overseas shipping makes it a little too expensive to gamble on something that might just have the identical track as the common edition of the single. So I figured I'd ask the community, in the chance that someone already owns it.

Amazing and fascinating interview! Would have loved to hear how he came up with and the creative process behind the bass lines in "Panic Song"
-
You’re welcome! I liked it very much, too. Especially the parts where he played those bass lines. So impressive! And he’s so likable as a person.
-
True.... a bit ape-like .

Not sure if this is related to the fan project mentioned above but here's news about a Green Day tribute album: More Than 50 Bands Contribute to Green Day Tribute Compilation to Benefit Animal Shelters https://consequence.net/2026/03/green-day-tribute-compilation-benefit-animal-shelters/

LOL. It's just an action photo from the 90s. It's not taken with a camera capable of catching movement so he looks kinda like he's melting. The strips on his shirt and the angle are not helping. In half the photos from my childhood either me or one of my siblings look like this. Funny, I used to hate posing for photos as a kid because we had to stay still for the camera for too long, (oh no a whole 20 seconds!) now I hate it because my friends want to take 20 photos in roughly that same time frame so they can pick "the best" one to put on Insta for literally no one to see.
