Saviors (édition de luxe) - Out May 23rd !!

I feel the same way about this. In all honesty, one could maybe sympathize with these folks in 2016, but after everything we have been through since, it's pretty hard to have sympathy for anyone who is still supporting Trump now. I just love it whenever Billie takes on current events and really busts out the attitude. I think he did a great job with that on Saviors and it is great to see even more of it in these bonus tracks. -
Not sure the new video really adds anything but I like to see them too. Agree with @pacejunkie punk that the guy was a paedophile or abuser. Loved Billie’s shirt, another one with lots of text like his one last weekend.

Oh I definitely don’t blindly praise everything, and I’m not against discussion, I guess I’m just not massively negative and don’t feel the need to discuss if i dislike something in the same way a lot of people do. I’d rather spend my energy on stuff i like and I can’t be the only one who thinks on here that more often than not people are just moaning cause they can haha -

Billie going "stick your Bible and shove it up-" and cutting himself off is so funny I like Suzie Chapstick acoustic but it's pretty similar to the album version. I prefer this Father to a Son isn't one of my favourites but I much prefer the vocals on the acoustic version, they sound weird and nasal on the album. The low key guitar suits the song much better than a full on orchestra too -
Meh Green Day trying to be genuinely scary/menacing is just ridiculous to me and the masks are hideous so I prefer the cute video with Mickey Mouse lol. Billie's outfit is fabulous though Feels like a weak/unfinished idea of just literally showing some evil mobster stuff happening to someone to go with the lyrics and then I guess the kids are supposed to be a twist. Kind of lame

I hope the guy they buried was a pedophile, that was my takeaway after seeing his captors were little kids. At first I thought they were gonna bury the poor SOB alive but they didn’t go quite that far. Wild video, very reminiscent of a classic 80’s vid that tells a story I got drawn into it. The guys look great in the performance bits I always appreciate when they’re included

I really like Stay Young and Underdog, I always love acoustic versions as somehow they sound more personal and Fuck Off just made me laugh and think well somebody pissed you off that day Billie 😂 I already love Ballyhoo. -

Having listened to extra songs, time to listen to whole record as the band intended, I'm just along for the ride, willingly. Record on turntable, speakers full blast (hello neighbors), I hour, 7 mins. Let's go fuckin' crazy jumping up and down from TADIKM to Underdog. 🤪 - Today

Underdog is actually growing on me a fair bit. I'd definitely say it's the best of the 5 new songs. Probably a hot take cus some people seem to think it's the worst (or close to it) The song Fuck Off seems to be interesting lyrically because it seems to be targeted at Trump supporters, which I think is sort of a contrast to how he spoke about Trump supporters back around the first Trump term where he seemed to be somewhat sympathetic to their concerns even if he was completely against Trump. But I understand why he'd now be like "If you still think Trump is on your side after how much he's fucked everything up, just fuck off" -

OK Stay Young and Underdog are pretty interesting! Stay Young is really great musically and Underdog is cool. Lyrics are like Minority part 2 and "I wanna be your underdog" has to be a nod to Iggy. And the guitar part is sick. Although Billie isn't fooling anyone calling himself ugly lol -

I made the mistake once of saying something critical about a Weezer song from the Blue Album in the Weezer sub 🫣😬 -

Just listed to the deluxe edition and was a little underwhelmed that there weren't more b-sides/bonus tracks. I do love the new songs though! While they are really good, I can see why they didn't make the original album though, since the original album is so perfect as is. I have to say I am obsessed with Fuck Off. It might be a little repetitive, but it feels like the perfect song for the current moment in American society. -

Fuck Off is the funniest shit ever . Especially when it sounds exactly like Murder City (with someone repeatedly singing "fuck off" over it lol). Now gonna listen to the rest. All seems like classic Green Day b side material to me, it's not album quality but fun To me it seems more like a hivemind where you have to like/dislike/rate high/rate low the same songs as everyone else, rather than just being expected to like everything -

The only song I had high expectations for was the acoustic Suzie Chapstick. It's growing on me after a few listens and I'm glad they released it because it's another take on the best song on Saviors, even if it's not my favourite take on it, and when I've played a song 4598495834958345345 times I appreciate that. The one Billie posted on Instagram is better though. Also, Suzie Chapstick was absolutely made to echo around stadiums and even crappy audio is more perfect than any studio recording could ever be. I think everything but Belushi and the acoustic Father to a Son (which I'm not even going to listen to) will grow on me, which is a nice surprise considering that I only bothered listening to any of it because of the acoustic Suzie Chapstick. Discussion is the whole point of a forum though. No-one's saying they shouldn't have released the tracks, they're explaining why they're disappointed which is more interesting than people blindly praising everything. -
So we get TWO One Eyed Bastard music videos?! I already love the animated one, can't wait for the new one!

Gave these all another listen since my initial reaction to give a more thorough review. I’m surprised no one likes Stay Young. That’s probably my favorite of what was released today. Too repetitive vocally obviously, but instrumentally it’s great. It sounds adjacent to Green Day but still fresh — kinda Yellowcard-esque maybe (I love Yellowcard). Fuck Off is also lyrically repetitive but sonically pleasant for me. It feels silly how mid-tempo and casually it’s sung, though, given the subject. Spelling in songs is not ideal in 2025 unless it’s Hot To Go. Disappointingly unmemorable. Underdog is like if you fed artificial intelligence Nimrod, Warning, and Shenanigans and asked it to write a song. Ranking: 1. Ballyhoo 2. Stay Young 3. Smash It 4. Fuck Off 5. Underdog -

I enjoyed the songs overall, and I really liked the style of Underdog. However, as a whole, the deluxe tracks give the impression that they were released more out of obligation than inspiration. I understand they’re B-sides for a reason. They don't quite hit the mark the main album does. As a longtime fan who genuinely appreciates the band, I hope to see a future project with stronger lyrical depth. That’s the one element I feel has been missing lately. A lot of the material feels repetitive and doesn’t carry much meaningful messaging. It’s easy to grow tired of it quickly. Still, I respect the effort and always look forward to what Green Day does next.
