whats the craziest thing youve seen at a green day concert
Hermione replied to drejoearmstrong's topic in Green Day Chat
Most special thing was them picking a disabled girl to play Knowledge and she rocked it playing the guitar with Billie's help and got to keep the guitar, very awesome Craziest was everything at Foxboro Hot Tubs lol. And strictly at GD my sister passing out in the crazy crowd at Shepherds Bush and getting pulled out but being back dancing to King for a Day 10 minutes later -
This one's not such a rare photo but kinda funny. A poster from AstroGirl (a teen entertainment magazine) from the American Idiot era. "Stargazing with Green Day" You might think I possessed this poster because my daughter wanted to be an astronaut but no, it was just part of the collection https://www.instagram.com/p/DTf0Ccagh_i/?igsh=czhiN2l0bWVoM2dl

i had another somewhat green day related dream 2 days ago... i was gonna mention it yesterday but i forgot. unfortunately i'd only remembered the end of it as i was just about to wake up. im pretty sure green day appeared somewhere else in the dream but i remember none of it. here we go.. since i was starting to become aware of my surroundings, the setting was my room and... well... i was in bed. while i was laying there i saw this big, floating radio over the foot of my bed and i was like. "huh"... so then i sat up and then the entire radio (except the base of it) just like. slid off and there it was. 2016 green day sitting on there with their legs curled up to their chests staring at me. and lets just say this was BOTH of our reactions (the seal is back (and hes talking)). anyways dream ended before either of us could go "yo what the hell" and then i woke up in a cold sweat.

Can't say I saw that coming lol. Reminds me of that Rugrats episode where Chuckie dreams he found Tommy only it's not Tommy...

OMG THANK YOU I thought I was the only one!! I've listened to Bad Omens and liked them, but I have never heard of From Ashes to New. I'll check them out.

Currently going through this already with Verizon FioS losing access to NBC and affiliated channels since they can’t make a deal. Paying for cable and can’t watch. Glad I don’t also pay for YouTube premium. Update: I just checked and the American Idiot video is still there as is the rest of their music so not sure why this reports that it isn’t

Here's a really old photo you don't see around. It's from an Australian magazine from when Green Day appeared at the HMV Studios in Sydney on 8 February 1996. https://www.instagram.com/p/DTYK-fCDYq7/?igsh=MW84Yzh5eTVzcGwxYg== My daughter has painstakingly been scanning all this for me this last week and deserves a medal!

YouTube blocks Nirvana, Green Day, Adele and more amidst U.S. licensing dispute A wide variety of music has been impacted by the block, from Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," "Problem" by Ariana Grande ft. Iggy Azalea, and Green Day's "American Idiot", to iconic tunes such as R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion," "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana, and "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" by Bob Dylan. Official videos aren't the only ones affected either. All videos which use SESAC-licensed audio are no longer accessible, taking out fan-edited music videos alongside ones from the artists themselves. Covers are being blocked as well, so you won't even be able to enjoy KIDZ BOP's rendition of "Wake Me Up When September Ends." https://mashable.com/article/youtube-music-blocked-green-day-nirvana-sesac

Same here metal/metalcore was my 2nd most listened to genre! You should check out bad omens or From ashes to new, both excellent

my green day dreams are always so vaguely green day related but whatever. skip to paragraph 3 if you just want the green day bit today i had a dream where i got on a game with it's servers full, supposedly for an event. one of my school friends just so happened to be there and all of a sudden we we're actually in the game. with our real bodies... anyways the event i believe started 5 minutes after i joined. soon enough the place went dark, a lot of places were removed or extending for extra space and there were now rows of shelves. then there were big cards all over the new seats and the ground and stuff, and we had to collect the best ones for the end of the event. anyone in a pair had to whisper to each other n stay silent. HOWEVER. eventually, we went through the shelves. look who's there? billie joe armstrong. just picking something out on the shelves. presumably '97 billie, except he had bright blue (not teal) (not aqua) (not blurple) hair, and the same colored as his jacket. and i was like what the flip thats billie joe armstrong... he was on his own too. just doing something by the shelves. i dont know what. so we pass by not the be weird and get out of the shelves and continue the event. 5 minutes we go into a different row of shelf and he's there. again. just doing something. then i notice how fucking short he is and is barely taller than me in the slightest and im like "wow he's pretty short" to my pair. n we try not to make him hear cuz we're right behind him (thank fuck he didnt). then we leave the shelves again cuz we're just scared ... so we continue and then we run into him AGAIN. outsidw the shelves this time and its like "fuck this shit" and we pass by again. and he just so happens to not be looking at the insides of the shelves this time and he. he like. turns to face our direction and his eyes just fucking gone it was just this big void of black and. lets just say this was my reaction good thing he was gonna do something else cuz. what the flip. anyways dream ended at some point. im scared

there really is something about green day... my friend hardly listens to anything else and says (almost) everything that isnt green day sucks. harsh but damn, i can't blame him. thanks not into metalcore but i need recs first to get into it. i wouldnt mind the genre! and thanks again! agreed! and of course, we all love @Dingle for being cool. thanks (again) ❤️

This is really extremely cool!😍

Can't believe I found one of these online over Christmas. It's one of the cool trilogy hoodies (couldn't afford one at the time)

My obsession is still very much here!😆 It’s a bit different when live shows are concerned. I love live music and go to shows of many bands (mostly punk, also „smaller“ bands). But when listening to music at home I always return to GD very quickly. It’s a kind of addiction… And the fandom‘s enthusiasm fuels that addiction (looking at you @Dingle 😉). But I love that and would never want to change it. It makes me happy.😊

Yeah, near the beginning, I strictly listened to Green Day because I was OBSESSED with them when I first heard them. They opened doors to so many more bands to be though. So nowadays I listen to soooo many bands. I am listening to a lot of Silverstein, Slipknot, Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium, and As I Lay Dying atm. If anyone else is into metalcore on here, please let me know because as far as I know, I am like the only one Btw, great picks, @sergiewoo.

That's the thing you see. This is what happened to me 30 years ago. Once the GD sound touches you, it surrounds you, enters you and flows through your veins. Other bands just can't come close. There's no escape, resistance is futile. It's a commitment for life 'till the end of time. You so lucky. Just enjoy. And if I may say, I'm so happy for you and proud of you.
