I don't blame you. IMO they shouldn't release another anniversary edition for some time. We've had so many in the past few years and it seems like the consensus on this one is that the added value just isn't there to justify it. Especially at the utterly absurd price points. It's starting to feel like an upsell to get a quick buck from die-hard fans and I wish they'd just lie low for a few years preparing for the next album cycle.

AI 5 song demo cd discovered by redditor

Totally agree👍 -
There will probably be a 21st CB 20th Anniversary Edition and it will be around the release of the new album or just after. I'm expecting even a stronger album than Saviors with many fresh ideas next. 😉
-
This. It's the same for the Dookie anniversary. We get it, 10 minutes of chaos and noice was cool at Woodstock. But that's it. I want music, good recordings and not Longview and Basket Case for the 1769th time and half of the live album consisting of shenanigans😅 I literally cannot hear the difference between the remastered tracks and the originals. Where do I look? 😂
-
Yeah, agree. It's one of my favourite songs by the band and the simple, driving rhythm section is what makes the song so great. IMO feels lacking without it.

Dry Ice , 1991. 13 years old. Love @greenalert997x guide. In Guitar World, interesting article on string spacing if anyone's interested. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/lifestyle/lifestylegeneral/why-string-spacing-can-radically-change-the-way-an-electric-guitar-plays/ar-AA1JEj5U?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=EDGEDB&cvid=691b6114fbb1460b8351ddda00025a42&ei=35

11 minutes of knowledge, followed by 10 minutes of minority ... 😐

The remaster sounds great, the demos are pretty standard but have some highlights. Church On Sunday demo is a big stand out for me despite not being very different from the final version. Wish the vocals on Jackass demo were louder because I really can't make out any of the different lyrics at all. I like the Otis mixes and love the idea of them overall, but I don't seem to be as hyped on these as some others have been. Macy's Day Parade is great and Waiting is good, but I can't help but feel that the feedback on the guitar detracts from Waiting in certain spots. Particularly after the long pause. Not having everything kick in altogether loses a bit of punch. Still need to dig into the live show more. Overall, a solid box set. Probably the least interesting overall (excluding Insomniac's anniversary release) and my least favorite, but again the remaster alone was worth it. Sounds phenomenal. Current ranking for anniversary box sets would probably be Nimrod, American Idiot, Dookie, Warning.

Why did they not record Church on Sunday or When I Come Around in any way, shape or form at the concert? Was there an issue? Did the band want a couple songs to be special and just for those people? What was the deal?
-
I didn't purchase the Dookie box or deluxe Insomniac. I've got the Nimrod, Idiot and Warning boxes and I'm thinking about what releases they will do in the future and whether I will want to purchase them or not. I guess it depends on what extras there are, but I think I might be good on Green Day box sets.

I think you are in the Minority, because everyone seems to be super hyped about it, but you're not alone. I like the Otis mix, because I like the song. But I definitely prefer the original version and the demo over it, by long shot. The Otis mix of Waiting is pretty cool though!
-
Am I in the Minority *ahem* in thinking that the Macy's Day Parade Otis mix is really disappointing?
-
I remember the Napster leaks I downloaded at first didn't have deadbeat holiday but one of the unknown live tracks from kalx show so didn't hear that song u til release
-
Yes! Really loved these two demos (especially Misery), with the half-baked lyrics and Billie (I think) being like "it's the bridge" in the middle of Misery Loved it. I know everyone is obsessed with the Otis mix of Macy's Day Parade, and I love it too, but I m actually obsessed with the demo. I just love it. All the sounds towards the end give it a tropical vibe (in my brain at least 😅) that reminds me of my hometown and gives me all the feels.
-
I definitely did not enjoy a majority of the live tracks on this Warning 2025 remaster album, that's for sure. The Misery demo was really hard to hear, it must have been damaged or something

My partner is learning to play the saxophone, and my first reaction was to run to him and tell him, "here, you need to learn to play this now"

Great find! I'm starting to think the 9/13/1994 broadcast might be of the March 11, 1994 St. Petersburg, Florida show. -
It's a very nice looking box set and the book has a lot of cool information. Hold On was written because a friend of a friend of Billie's was dying, wow. There was a misunderstanding about the orchestral parts on the album because they thought Billie wanted Within You Without You by the Beatles when he asked for With or Without You" by U2. Haha here's the guy who wrote the notes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Wild

It's a cash grab. If you just want to listen to it, download it. If you want to own it physically, buy it, but maybe you'll find it cheaper somewhere. A torrent tracker states: CD 1 - KSAN FM Broadcast - Club Rio, Tempe, AZ - 13th September 1994 CD 2 - WBCCN FM Broadcast - Aragon Ballroom, Chicago - 18th November 1994 CD 3 - WROQ FM Broadcast - House of Blues, Myrtle Beach, SC - 6th May 1998 CD 4 - WFMU FM Studios - East Orange, NJ - 28th May 1992 I'm not sure about CD 1. I've never heard of that show and there's no thread in the download section for that date. But it has been available digitally for at least 4 years: https://www.qobuz.com/mx-es/album/green-day-ksan-fm-broadcast-club-rio-tempe-az-13th-september-1994-green-day/vkrxb2esz0tob Here's a FLAC download link if anyone's interested: https://mega.nz/folder/M6pBUSTa#NbPhaIYj9MwG4QHpKhnjkg -

Seems like an obvious package of bootlegs. https://www.amazon.com/Green-Day-Broadcast-Collection-1992-1998/dp/B0FWFR5G8Y Found a download link: https://mega.nz/folder/fIU3USZB#vBRDMFqBBuYvmOG0ZSnh3A Is anyone able to identify the show dates? The fourth disc appears to be from the "On the Radio", 05-28-1992 broadcast.
