Yes please! I know they record performances without ever releasing them a lot but I want Wembley . Surely they have to put out a live album/film for such a monumental tour and when it's 14 years since the last one -

I've never complain about new Green Day. *however* live albums are my least favorite kind of album. How many live versions of Basketcase and Brainstew can possibly exist in the world? lol. I understand that Shenanigans only exists because Green Day were self destructing after warning, and we probably won't ever get another b-sides collection. but live albums and demolicious are just un-fancy sauce in my opinion. That being said, take my money and crawl, Billie Joe! -

I think this video clearly shows that they recorded the Wembley concert. (the description confirms that) It's the perfect time for a new live album. They're still at their peak, having played their biggest solo show yet, playing Idiot and Dookie in their entirety, plus the release of Saviors. It's the kind of material that needs to be released to demonstrate the scale of this band. I was there, and the atmosphere was completely special, even in the days before the show, with so many people walking the streets wearing Green Day shirts. It felt like 2005 all over again. -

Thanks Jen, I thought it was pretty weird too and it was all clogging up my brain until I wrote it all down.

Wow, I knew a lot if that but not all and when you it all brought together like that, it’s uncanny!

The last two days we were at a punk festival in Hannover (good music and a lot of rain and mud 😂). In the time between the bands there was a cool guy playing „punk piano“. Good Riddance sounded great!🥰

This is a damn good performance of Bang Bang! It beats the VMAs performance for me. The mix is also better, so I’m sure that has a lot to do with it.

If they do, hopefully it would be mixed by Chris Lord-Alge. Bullet in a Bible sounded so much better than all other live albums I know. -
I wrote a little essay comparing the Beatles life and career to Green Day’s and the similarities are pretty surprising if you’re interested: https://archiveofourown.org/works/67989676

thank god Hold On nor Worry Rock werent hits, since theres a decent chance (SOME) beatles fans would be up in arms about those songs basically being I Should Have Known Better and Nowhere Man respectively (authors note: green day is why im into the beatles...sorta)

i think they could have done a less demanding follow up if they did a mix of Stop Drop & Roll, most of act 3 of 21CB (up to 21 Guns or American Eulogy) and like, maybe 2 or so other hold outs from C&V+Stay The Night and maybe even 99 Revs

Your ideal Green Day show/playlist
Tre's Busted Drumkit replied to Saint Walshie's topic in Green Day Chat
2004 and 2009 brought two mega-hit albums full of deep, introspective lyrics, strong stories, and more social commentary than you could fit into a two-hour fireside chat with Rachel Maddow. Then along comes this triple album that's two-thirds filler and all about sex, partying and drugs with little bits and pieces of commentary thrown in. Oh, and it drove Billie Joe to the brink. Time's eased up on that a bit. The whole "AI, 21CB, this shit," isn't as noticeable now that we have a couple of really good albums and one incredibly shitty one since then. When listened to as the follow-up to AI and 21CB, it's just bad. When listened to in its own right, I mean, it's still pretty shit more often than not, but songs like "Stay the Night", "Let Yourself Go", "99 Revolutions" and a few other not-shit examples of music benefit from not having you thinking, "We went from American Eulogy to this?". I think Billie Joe said once that he regrets not having just made Stop, Drop and Roll the Green Day followup to AI instead of relegating that one to a side project and throwing another massive mega-album at the wall as the followup instead. I wonder if that was in his mind when he and the band decided to do three "nothing to do with anything" albums after 21CB instead of jumping straight back into the sociopolitical undertones of Rev Rad. One fucking minute? -

Minus the 4th guitarist thing, this is my plan. I’ll hang out with a friend Saturday and do Riot Fest-y things but Sunday I shall get as close to the stage as possible like I did with the Harley Davidson Fest. I love Chase Petra who is also playing Sunday but I plan to be at the Green Day stage lol. I’ve been way too spoiled with barrier at shows. -
