It's so soon! I have eight days left of work before it's concerts. 🥹🩷 -
I wish I had taken a video of it! It was definitely second half of the show, maybe about 3/4 of the way through. I wish I could remember which songs it was between, sorry! But I remember exactly what he said: He asked the crowd, "How're you guys doing?!", we all went "wooo!", and he went "well I'm sad....nah just kidding, I'm happy. I'm a very happy boy these days...despite everything" with a little smile on his face. I assume he meant "despite everything" referring to trump/political things

Green Day on the Kerrang new issue
GreenDay_Fan replied to Give_Me_Novacaine90's topic in Green Day Chat
Anyone read it yet? I’m seeing them at Download festival and I’m curious of what they said about making their debut there -
Would rather (or perhaps also) get a Warning Anniversary Edition. I supect there might be lots of ideas there that returned on later albums
-
We deserve insomniac material if it’s out there Billie’s most personal album Green Day’s fastest and darkest sound imo their first concept album as every song is pretty on the nose of Billie going through a lot during this time period those songs are deep it’s their In Utero and is always under-looked I’d love an album with that type of intensity and rawness and Billies deep vocals on this is amazing his tone in this era is my favorite

Welcome back to The Green Day Authority

I don't even do GDA because of Green Day anymore. I'm not on any other fansites or pages. I do it just because I value the sites and the community so much. GDA and especially GDC were my 'places' when I was growing up, in the same way Gilman was to Green Day. That probably sounds sad but it's just how it was for the people who grew up alongside the dawn of the internet, and honestly, I'm one of many people who has met real life friends through GDC so it's not like it isn't actually 'real life.' I've felt like throwing in the towel many times but I'm glad I haven't. It's very rewarding to see the sites making a comeback and to hear from others like me who are glad to see it. I won't pretend I can keep up with the other fansites when it comes to news because I can't, but for me, GDA has always been more than news anyway - it's about the community, info and fun anecdotes that aren't found anywhere else. I'll carry on doing my best for the foreseeable future ☺️ -
I hope so, on the 25th anniversary edition, they only included some live tracks. Unlike Nimrod, where it got demos and a full show
-
Which tracks were they? Cuz those are most Likely working titles for some songs Also Warning is slightly tied into that album (C&V) which I think could give it more momentum over insomniac
-
Living in the 40's - the world will be perfect, everything will be great - Green Day playing everywhere, all the time. One can hope at least. I don't want to go to work tomorrow, so I'm retiring in 2047 no matter WHAT is going on, lol. I'll start a Green Day cover band if I have to.
-
Years back Todd had posted a screengrab of video from the studio sessions of Insomniac there are 3-4 tracks that was written on the board that’s not been heard they could do a 3 disc set album b sides and demos live album

I see this song as - you could say something that perfectly explains how you’re feeling with eloquence, with precision; you could go into detail, bullet points, the lot. But sometimes you need to go straight to the point 👍🏻 and that’s what this song is to me haha. No beating about the bush here, just fuck off! The end
-
I mean, it's not their most sophisticated writing--and I am sure that is why it didn't originally make it onto Saviors--but I feel like it captures the current American political moment very well. I love it Billie gets political, and even if this isn't his deepest social commentary, I still really like it. I would say it is my second favorite bonus track after Ballyhoo.

39/Smooth is turning 35 and warning 25 years. After that, it'll be a while before any albums hit big milestones. Breakdown - 20 years - 2029 Trilogy - 20 in 2032. (do a redemption tour, lol!) Rev Rad will hit 10 years next year. They could potentially do something for that. Otherwise, 20 years at 2036. Father of All - needs a redemption tour as well. 20 years in 2040. Which.....Green Day probably will have slowed down a little bit as far as touring. Maybe bonus tracks will weave together the various stages this album went through. Could be lots on the cutting room floor that weren't recycled already. Saviors turns 20 in 2044 which....holy crap, I will still be working. BUT, to always look on the bright side of life....by 2047 I WILL be retired. WOOHOO! oh yeah and Insomniac! wah-hey!

Got Green Day on shuffle with the kiddo, having a great drive and then, without warning.........THIS SONG. No intro, no warning, just BAM. Haha. I wonder how that works with the youtube video because you're not supposed to have strong cursing at the very beginning no matter what - will that lyric video not be monetized or maybe limited? Anyway. It's like the other bonus songs. It's a fun little bonus. It's One Eyed Bastard light.

This has been my hangout spot since April 21st, 2008 - the day before Stop, Drop and Roll came out. There's been crashes, drama and one time I got in trouble for asking who someone was (I gotta let it go!) - but man, it's always fun. No idea who 99% of your are in real life, but I feel like we know each other. We've been talking about Green Day together for 17 years. That's wild.

Looks like my irregular lurking happens at the right time to express some gratitude. Thanks to the entire team that has kept this (now probably considered old-school) forum community alive, and thanks to those that are committing their future time to it as well. This forum and GDA is the most cozy feeling place to go to learn about anything that's happening related to Green Day. It's lovely to hear that this community will live on in the foreseeable future.

Front of stage for N1 But won’t be queing becuase the VIP exists and I’d rather have a pint 😅 partner and I are staying in the arte hotel beside the venue so happy to meet whenever! (Show number 20 for me and I am EXCITED) -
Yeah this is a big part of what helped me decide to try and do more. There are some great communities out there, but reading comments on social media is depressing. It’s hard on a platform like that where you can’t moderate like you can on a forum. There are people doing good things out there, but I like the idea of something more tangible than just a feed to scroll past.

So glad to see this. Both GDA and GDC have such special places in my heart as I have made lifelong friends & countless memories through this site. I'm not going anywhere!
