I had an ex who when he was 22 and started dating someone who was 16. Everyone around me, including myself, thought it was weird and kind of disgusting. If they'd been ten years older I wouldn't think that much of it though. I thought about this earlier. 😂 Nice to see something more up to date, lol.

They sound soooo similar, I was doing my dishes when I listened to it for the first time, and didn’t even realize Jakob was singing too, I thought he just did the guitar. I figured Billie really brought out that deep voice from his youth. Only on he second listen I realized there were 2 voices on the track lol I don’t think 16y years olds are mature, but neither are 22 years olds. Now, at 28, looking back, I see more similarities between my 22yo self and my 16yo self than between my 28yo self now and my 22yo self.

I was trying to figure out which parts were which singer, and I’m not entirely sure. I think they sound so similar! Have you listened to Jakob’s (as The Death Chat) song Lost at Sea? He sounds SO MUCH like Billie in that one!

So Heroes was recorded to commemorate the upcoming 50th season of Survivor. Why am I not surprised. With the band due to open a major sporting event, not for the first time, the band seem to be the first choice to nominate an existing song or even write one for some sort of major event. The last one being the song Underdog for soundtrack for a new animal series for National Geographic. There have been 17 other songs used for various soundtracks going back to 1995, some existing, others songs written specifically for soundtrack. And this year's no different. Nice one GD. Just shows how really special you continue to be even in the mainstream environment.

I think the higher range in the latter part is Billie too.

I’m not certain who sings what. Fairly certain Billie is first verse but after that I’m at a loss. Enjoying the cover tho!

I admit I‘ve never quite understood the Joey „scandal“. The girl was 16 and he was 6 years older. Some girls that age are quite mature. As I can’t know anything more about their relationship I think it wouldn’t be fair to pass judgment from the „outside“ perspective.

So having listened quite a few times to this, albeit not yet on quality headphones, I’m actually changing my mind on who sings which part and I see Jakob just posted that they shared the vocals. I said a short while ago I didn’t think they sounded that similar but I think I might have to take that back!

What a wild thing to say. Nothing proves that David Bowie ever slept with underaged girls. He specifically refused to kiss Jennifer Connelly in Labyrinth because of her age, and he had a long string of girlfriends and boyfriends and all of them were full grown adults. Predators don’t sleep with children once and then start dating adults, it’s a repetitive and recognizable pattern. And bringing up the Joey scandal is completely unnecessary, but so is comparing a 22yo kid, dating a 16yo younger kid to a full grown adult grooming a child.
