American Idiot is charting all of a sudden

American Idiot is on the charts again. It is at #42 this week on Billboard 200, moving down 1 place from #41 last week. It was projected at #13 according to this article(http://www.vintagevinylnews.com/2016/03/could-this-be-one-of-worst-weeks-for.html)

Why is it so? Is it because:

1. Geezer is coming out soon.

2. Donald Trump

3. They included some new algorithm.

#13 is impressive. I did a project a few years ago for which I searched through Billboard for every album since Dookie (to 21stCB) and sometimes an album would come up in a random date years after its release, but I don't think at such high position. I'll have to search for the project.

My theory: It's Green Day's newest generation of fans.  Generation Z were little kids when their parents (me) raised them on it. That was the default CD in the car. Now generation Z is old enough to have disposable income and seek out and buy  music.   They are old enough to be aware of current events and some are old enough to vote. So the themes are relevant to them, just as they were to us in 2005, because it's masterfully written to  be universal and eternal.
