The most popular thing to do in Louisville is your cousin.

Chicago, on the other hand, has a metric fuckton of stuff to do. So much so, in fact, that you could spend two weeks there and still not see it all. What type of stuff is particularly interesting to you? You might also want to PM lizziebix, as she lives there and knows the area like the back of her hand.

I've only got eleven hours in Chicago (including getting in/out of the airport) but I've got days in Kentucky lol

yes let's all keep pretending the south is a horrible uncivilized place with no nice establishments or decent people of any sort because that's the #cool and #trendy thing to do

y'all aren't as funny as you think tbqh

I'm just offended by the lazy humor

Cincinnati is pretty close by and has a lot of stuff to do: shopping, restaurants, etc. There's an aquarium in Newport, KY, just across the river from Cincinnati that's pretty cool, too. Also if you're into gambling and over 21 there's lots of riverboat casinos along the Ohio River (including one about 5 miles from the Speedway, I believe). If you have a way of getting there, Indianapolis is probably just under 3 hours from Sparta and has shopping, a ton of pubs and bars, lots of well-reviewed restaurants, etc. Madison, Indiana, is pretty close to Sparta, too, and from what I've heard is a cute little town with lots of history.

"lots of history" - dates back 200 years. Oh Americans are cute :P

Sorry...seriously though, thank you for your suggestions, I'll definitely look into the things you said! :)

The aquarium is cool. The Louisville Slugger factory/museum was pretty much the only other highlight of Kentucky when I was there a couple days... tbh I told myself I'd never go back because it was such an "enjoyable" experience last time. :P Oops. Damn you, Green Day.

If pizza is going to be eaten, eat it in Chicago!

Also, I feel bad for NiFi, there will be like, 10 people there, and that will cause me to feel even more anxious than I already am because I will be embarrassed for the festival and I have already given it anthropomorphic attributes and I think it will feel sad that there are so few people in it. But…10 people at a Green Day show would be awesome.

Not quite 200 years yet, actually! Here in Indiana we don't even hit our bicentennial until next year.

And of course! You're welcome! I'm from an area less than two hours from the Speedway so I'm decently familiar with these areas if you'd like any more suggestions! :)

"Come to this festival, it'll be fun, we swear!"

"Buy 3-day passes, they're a steal, we swear!"

"Buy these cheaper passes, last chance, we swear!"

"Get 1-day passes, limited time only, we swear!"

"Give us money, we need money, please..."

THIS!!! I'm pretty sure all of us GA pass holders are most likely going to be able to get into that Ignited section and be as close to the stage as possible. :D I can't wait to see the turnout of this thing.

It's so wrong. And I don't even have some hours at a big interesting city, just Kentucky for 6 days. But if they play a show in Kentucky then it would be worth it no matter what. If not... well... I try not to think much about it  it's so much cheaper than a big city anyway.

Six days? Find the right local teacher, and you could master the banjo in that amount of time.

It's only five complete days and one is used for the concert so it would be 4 to explore around really. I'll think about the banjo! :P

You've obviously never tried to play banjo.

Just know if you camp at Nifi Fest, you're not allowed to leave the campgrounds and re-enter...
