Sanity Loan Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Go read over on GDA! Remember this song? http://www.greendayauthority.com/news/4147/
MaraGreenDay Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 So Billie really don't remember that they recorded "Like a rolling stone"?? Hahaha omg I love when they do covers and this is one of my favorites
belinda jane Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 i LOVE this cover. it reminds me of summer 2009/2010 here because that's ALL i would play in my car. god damn i love it so much.
belinda jane Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 What exactly is a Throwback Thursday? it's just a quirky name for reminiscing on old times like flashback friday.
Caractériel Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I love the original version, and they really did it justice. I was so happy they played it at the FBHT show in London a few years back. The way they did the 'You are forgiven' bit over and over was hilarious. It's one of the few things I actually remember. Stupid alcohol addled brain.
Isabel Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 This is pretty much my favourite cover that Green Day has ever done.
Tubbie Head Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 One of my favourite GD covers!! :dance:And I love how they used to play it at the the FBHT shows.
Todd Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 This and Knowledge are my favorite covers. And that's a great story!! Thanks for that!
Hermione Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I love the original version, and they really did it justice. I was so happy they played it at the FBHT show in London a few years back. The way they did the 'You are forgiven' bit over and over was hilarious. It's one of the few things I actually remember. Stupid alcohol addled brain. Oh my god it was so much fun! I knew it was gonna be the last song (well in the end I think they played Stop Drop And Roll again but I thought so anyway) so I thought right, I'm gonna concentrate and remember every moment of this . I think it worked too, this song takes me right back to that show every time. Love it
Karol Oliveira Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 This is my favorite cover they've done! I love it!!! I didn't know they had played live!
kerplunkerr Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I love The Who and I love Green Day, and i love this cover so much!! "Billie Joe noticed the song and asked, "Is this us?" " HAHAHAHAHA
JesusOfJingletown Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I liked it when they covered "rip this joint" by the Rolling stones on Jimmy fallon.
beejeezee Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 My favorite throwback. Glorious cover of a song by a glorious band. By far still one of my lltime favorite covers Green Day has done. Even though I love the Who with all my heart and soul, I don't regret saying that this version is so much better than the originl. Green Day bring a life and soul to the song the Who couldn't.
dangreenday Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Remember 1st getting the covers i was in love haha, this one is prob my fav tho
stuckwithme1039 Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Anyone have a lead on the shirt Billie's wearing? It's The Clash but I can't find a similar style.
Iain Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 This was worth the iTunes pre-order, let alone the deluxe version. The covers added as bonus tracks are very, very well done.
just_like_jen Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 This is probably my favourite cover that the boys have done. It's just such an epic song, by an awesome band, covered by Green Day...I don't think it gets much better!
disappearing_boy_39 Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I remember first hearing this song in '96 when the Rolling Stone released the video Rock and Roll Circus, a concert that originally took place in 1968 and featured performances from several bands. The Who played A Quick One While He's Away in it's entirety and the performance was amazing. I remember thinking that it was actually very punk rock! Watch how awesome this performance is. Anyway, one of my favorite Green day memories is being covered in PBR at Don Kings in NYC as The Foxboro Hot Tubs performed this song and extended the ending!
