If anything, it will go against them as it sounds like they are trying for Green Days sound instead of their own. Of course it's a cover and all, but I'd like to see them take another crack it by putting an original spin on it. Needs to turn down the fuzziness on everything like fuck. I've yet to see one be unlike the original, which is what I've seen most people be bothered by as well as myself. It's cool that they did i so well and close to the original, but if it's being done to promote their sound than it won't help too much. I'd have much rather seen them try to put some interesting twist on it or at least sing it a bit differently, it's pretty much spot on to the original. to help, maybe I'm working on one that I think changes the song quite a bit, so I'll upload it when done and maybe that'll help show what I'm saying. I want something different, like how the Broadway Cast Recording changed those songs so much but they're still the same songs at the core. Just not some dubstep remix or anything.

Ritz Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I actually enjoyed it. The missing 'Heys' make it seem empty somehow but overall its good! The bass needs to be more thumping and powerful.

Those are examples of covers that do their own thing with the songs ,wheras this one just keeps it the same. I'm not much of a fan of the latter.

[Edit:] Also just heard the solo. It's really cool that they didn't use a second guitar to do it. Makes think Green Day should have done it like that, I liked it. I think GDA might have posted this cover I liked the one they recorded in his kitchen a lot better :/
Red Lights Flash Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I really like the sound! It's a very good cover. Only a few drum beats sounded a little bit off, and the bass could use some more groove, but other than that I enjoyed it.
