That is awesome as fuck indeed :D

And it's so sweet of Mike to shout out some crew appreciation! Their effort often goes unnoticed, and yet night after night they do such an important job.

Yeah I would love to know the official figure too, it was freaking huge! Being in the second row when you turned around it was just a sea of people. Especially awesome durig Brutal love, a sea of lighters. It was an amazing night and definitely the crew deserve recognition :)

Was this bigger than the Bullet in a Bible audience?

Bryony pointed this out in her status so I had a look This is a comment Mike made on that picture:

OK, that's just going to me feel bad about (possibly) going to see Green Day later this year.

Really hope it's true, though.

Was this bigger than the Bullet in a Bible audience?

It was probably very similar: that was approximately 60000 people, too.

Yes! I think so :D

That's so cool.

Actually I think the Milton Keynes (Bullet in a Bible) shows were bigger. The National Bowl had at least 65,000 in attendance whereas Emirates only has the capacity for just over 60,000 :-( Still it was an absolutely amazing show and a great performance by all including the crew :-D

That 60,000 capacity is for a Football match.

As a concert venue the capacity is different because there are people on the pitch and one end of the stadium is not used because its behind the stage.

Mike actually posted on his instagram and said that there were 65.000 people, well approx anyway.

I don't think so. Apparently Emirates was 60,000. Bullet in a bible was, if I remember rightly, 130,000 over 2 nights. So 65,000 each.

I think they should come and play Milton Keynes again...that's only like a 25 minute drive from where I live ;)

I propose volunteer opportunities to work on road crew :P

I think to this date wembley stadium has been there biggest gig ( in terms of attendance).
So happy that they actually have set a record for the highest attendance in emirates. That means they had more attendance than muse and coldplay right ?

You're right, they must have done. That's pretty amazing, actually, considering that both Coldplay and Muse have recently had far better marketing and exposure in UK than Green Day.

They're a formidable force, it seems. I love them even more for it.

So are we talking about the statement Mike made in the OP or a possible tour of the UK? I'm totally confused by this thread now.

Mike was making a point to the guy and exaggerating slightly. I wouldn`t take it was guaranteed that they will be back in the UK this year though. They WILL be back for this tour...I just wouldn`t bet on it being this year. he replied in the best way possible and hopefully other fans who complain about similar things will stop and think in future.

I really hope this means more UK dates, but he could just be talking about Reading and Leeds. Fingers crossed for Birmingham!

Yeah, right. Why on earth would fans who bitch start thinking now after all these years. :fuzz:
