For this weeks download of the week we bring you the only professional recording of the side project The Foxboro Hot Tubs. This video recording comes from 2009/06/03 - Last Call with Carson Daly TV Show, Burbank, California, USA.

While recording a set to have a song featured every night of the week, fans noticed Tre's drumkit from the Foxboro Hot Tubs was brought out. After playing 6 songs from the new album, the guys came out with Kevin Preston from Prima Donna. This recording only features the two songs which are "Stop Drop & Roll" and "Mother Mary". It gives people who have never seen them live before a good idea of what their shows are actually like. The quality is fantastic as well as really enjoyable to watch as Billie gets quite involved with the audience.

Head over to our featured download section to download the 68.8mb AVI video. If you're also interested in the MP3 then I suggest joining up to our forum and checking out this topic.

Got a suggestion for next week's download of the week? Send me an email at liam@greendayauthority.com or shoot me a message over on GDC.

They were on Carson Daily? What kind of drug is that?

haha, just kidding. This was a great performance. I'm sure those who missed it will be excited to see it.

I've actually seen this before. Who would think that?

Kind of interesting how Tre never looks comfortable when the Tubbies perform, similar to how he didn't seem happy during the Uno promotion period.

I remember seeing this on TV and thinking how cool it would be to see The Foxboro Hot Tubs live. They're one of the few bands that is even more energetic than Green Day, haha.

I also remember thinking that I'd never get to see the band since they performed so infrequently and usually only in CA.

Then the American Idiot musical began on Broadway which led to NYC receiving some crazy Green Day love! As soon as I heard that the FBHT were playing at Don Hills, I knew I had to take off of work and head to Manhattan. I got there in the morning and was the 11th person on line. I waited all day and got to see different members of Green Da...err, The Foxboro Hot Tubs, enter the club. Heard the sound-check from outside while waiting online and then got into the venue at around 7ish. Two bands opened including Mystic Knights of the Cobra. The Foxboro Hot Tubs played around 30 songs and debuted It's Fuck Time, which they played at least 8 times. They also played Supermodel Robots, Blood Sex and Booze and A Quick One.

I've seen Green Day 10 times and this still stands out in my mind as one of their best performances. Billie Joe spent so much time in the audience crowd surfing and hanging from the ceiling (see the video at the end of my post). Members of the audience got on stage to sing and dance. And nobody left without getting splashed with PBR. Twas one wild night!

It's so weird seeing them sober in a studio

I'm not sure what you're trying to imply, but that's not true at all. He might not've looked hugely cheerful here because they were just playing in a TV studio rather than in a club having fun partying with the crowd, but he was plenty comfortable when I saw them! Spraying beer on the crowd, cracking jokes and having banter with the rest of the band, grinning his face off and putting on an amazing show. And I've followed all the shows the Tubbies have ever played on GDC and not once have I ever seen anyone say he didn't look comfortable.

I downloaded it!:woot: But I haven't gotten a chance to watch the videos yet.:( Too bad it only includes Mother Mary and Stop Drop and Roll!!!!... I would have liked to see the rest of the songs. Have they been filmed? If so, where can I find some footage that is of the quality of these two songs?

All the other Green Day songs were aired as well, I just decided to make this weeks the FBHT songs instead of the whole thing. Unfortunately there's no download link of the Green Day songs floating around yet.
