A lot of people will not like this. Its nothing to do with the band themselves, but more to do with how the American Idiot theme is being milked and turned into something that probably should have been left as an album. A musical is just like a play... the difference is that the actors sing instead of speak and they often wear very conspicuous costumes. Ingrid Posted March 30, 2009 Share Posted March 30, 2009 I must say that a year ago I would've probably hated the idea of this, but I've warmed up to musicals lately and I'm pretty excited about how it's gonna turn out.I think it has potential of becoming something great, but at the same time, it might turn out to be horrible. But it wouldn't take anything away from the album in my opinion, and like someone said earlier - you've got to take chances sometimes. I was on the fence about this when I first read it, but it is looking more promising to me now that I read more. I really don't think Billie Joe and Green Day would let someone make this masterpiece into some cheesy second rate production, so I have to have faith that it's gonna just be another awesome chapter in American Idiot interpretation.
