Am I the only one who thinks that this whole Wonderwall “incident“ is being blown massively out of proportion? BJ laughed it off, Liam wrote a silly tweet about it, that’s it. Now I’m seeing all these posts that turn it into a something big, which it really wasn’t. Why do we have to take everything so damn seriously, and why do people get angry about literally everything? 😅7 points

Out of the blue my mom texts me "hey...does Green Day have a song called Underdog?" She just saw the Nat geo ad! 😆 She said she recognized Billie's voice and was like I don't know that Green Day song!! Love that she knows Billie's name and recognizes his voice but refers to Mike and Tre as Mike Dirt and the other one...Mr Cool? 😆7 points

Time to bring back The Longshot! A Pinhead Gunpowder tour would be really cool though.6 points

Can't believe the Good Riddance thing has had this much attention. I posted my video thinking it was harmlessly funny, but I kind of wish I hadn't now because yes, it's been blown out of proportion. The kid is 14. It was very obvious he was nervous and there was possibly a language barrier. Even if it was intentional trolling, it was funny and didn't come across as anything more. Billie wasn't angry and I think most fans were glad it meant they got to hear Billie playing it 😂 It was also funny when someone held up a sign in Amsterdam and Billie read it, then said 'I'M playing Good Riddance.' Didn't we all do stupid shit at 14?6 points

Billie when the kid played Wonderwall instead of Good Riddance 😂😂😂 He’s had so many mishaps I’m surprised he still lets people up to do that. What a sport https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLimKjTt1d4/?igsh=MWxleDd6cnRtOGw1MA==6 points

You know I'm going to say it. It was amazing. It was surreal seeing them in front of me and not in front of a screen. I still have not realized this. They played every song I wanted to hear live after all these years not that whatever they played I wouldn't sing along and be jumping around. The summer here is very warm, we're talking about 40 degrees and we were there in the hot concrete since 3pm with the sun burning on our backs. But at the end of the day I was in the very front and could see our boys clearly so it was all worth it. I really had the time of my life.5 points

After yesterday‘s show I needed to come here. I don’t have photos right now. But if you see some you’ll have to appreciate the short sleeves! And the shirt in itself was great with the print Rage and Love on the back! Besides I liked Billie‘s hair, reminded me of the 21CB era, just in blonde… And Mike in red looked fantastic too!5 points

Looks like they have enjoyed the tour. 🩷 I loved the deep cuts they kept changing from show to show. I miss going to concerts already but with all the touring they've done I get that they need a break. Whenever they're ready to come back so are we. 🤗4 points

So glad you got to see them, they really are so amazing live. I feel them slipping away from us in Europe, am sure they will be glad to go home but they feel so far away.4 points

It’s the same for me. I have two (or maybe three) all time favorite bands that I follow even more closely than the other artists I listen to because I discovered them as a teenager and they have profoundly shaped my music taste and maybe even my personality a little bit. I listen to a lot of other bands too, but whenever a Green Day concert is approaching, I literally get nervous, even if I haven’t been to that many shows. There’s just a level of excitement I cannot quite reach with other bands and it’s a bit like a drug. You want to feel that excitement over and over again. Unfortunately, all of my favorite bands are a lot older than me, so if I stay healthy, there will be a time in my life without them. That’s why I hope that the break between tours won’t be too long 😂.4 points

It will be a long time until the next tour, or at least feel it, and we are all insatiable for new music and more tours. At least we can come here and sympathise with each other during the drought.4 points

Ah, post show depression. Save for next tour is my only advice but many here feel your pain. 🤟🏾💚4 points

It's one of the phone messages that's already been linked here but I remember it, it wasn't to the record label it was a message to update the fans on their progress with the next album. He was saying how they had a bunch of songs but that they weren't going to put out anything they weren't happy with. Then the messages stopped for a while and next thing they talked about was American Idiot. It's cool to listen in order you definitely hear that transition period from Warning to C&V to AI.4 points

That was a fun show! Never thought I'd hear I Was There again. That was probably the highlight although Bobby Sox is always a highlight. I also feel like people on social media are overreacting about the Good Riddance guy. It was obviously silly to go up when he didn't know the song well enough to play under pressure, but it was funny! Billie laughed it off. Hardly some unforgivable act of disrespect. At least we got to hear Billie playing it4 points

Not the brightest bulb in the box is he? And ofc why would he volunteer to be picked if he knew he couldn't play the song and also didn't want to embarrass himself?3 points

It's definitely got a lot of traction online over the last few days, although I didn't see LG had posted something as Twitter is a cesspit. Expected response from him TBF. I saw the theory on Reddit that the guy couldn't play Good Riddance so tried to play Boulevard, inadvertently playing Wonderwall instead since the two are so similar. I hope this isn't true. I prefer the idea of this kid trolling one of the biggest bands in the world at their own show with the greatest "so anyway, here's Wonderwall" ever. BJA laughed. Everyone has fun. The kid becomes an internet hero for 15 minutes. Who cares?3 points

I remember back in like 1998 getting fan club mail from green day and you could send a self addressed envelope and get an autographed photo back for free. Now you get emails about buying fuckin coffee and come spend your money on our corporation amd anything we put out. I feel like this change happened With the american idiot broadway show Era right?3 points

im guessing the following things are gonna happen during the break Live album (dookie and AI live+ some other regulars, maybe 1 or 2 Deepcuts pulled out+LNOE from Fireaid) Warning, 21CB, Lookout (1000 Hours-Kerplunk) and maybe Insomniac/Shenanigans Boxsets New Years Rev including Soundtrack Longshot?2 points

It seems that we will indeed have a new live album. Last year, we had already speculated about this due to an Instagram post by one of the camera operators at the Wembley concert, who said that 22 people filmed the concert and that he was anxious to see the final result. Now I found this video posted this year, which I don't know if anyone in the community has seen. This company shows what it was like to professionally record the audio from the Wembley concert. https://m.facebook.com/watch/?v=1083356093478314&vanity=SolidStateLogic.SSL Thoughts?2 points

Absolutely. Parts of my early teenage years was very difficult. American Idiot came out when I was 13 (now I'm 34). They have gotten me through hard times and it makes me emotional to think about how they've constantley been there. 🩷 Same here. I get excited for other bands too but it cannot be compared and whenever a Green Day show is finished I want to go to another. Fingers crossed for not waiting too long for more tours.🤞💕 Some of my favorite bands are around my age or a little older but I doubt they'll keep touring like Green Day has so I feel like I should get as many shows in as I can. 🤭2 points

The way he sings the Star Spangled Banner is so deeply sad and emotional. Like a requiem 🥺 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLueOG3Iu3T/?igsh=ZXJsYmxjeDV6cjNu2 points

I guess the saviors touring cycle will come to an end after the shows in september? They did some excessive touring the last couple years. If they keep up to their "4 year between albums" cycle we wont get a new LP until 2027/2028ish So maybe we will have to wait a long time now until we can see them again :/2 points

We were lucky at Rock Werchter yesterday and got Saviors again. It was incredible, I loved it so much!❤️2 points

I was curious to see how this show would go with the weather because it was so warm in the morning, but in the afternoon it wasn't hot anymore at all. I was actually a little cold during the show and had to go and change before I got my after show snacks. 😂 I got barrier on the side of the stage/by Jason. Wasn't the best spot but without getting VIP I was very happy with it. 😊 The golden circle section was smaller than the Vienna shows and it worked well in my experience. 2000 light years away was the highlight for me. 🩷 Loved that they didn't play Fuck off and it was fun with the changes they made with Revolution radio, Saviors and Look Ma, No brains. When Billie Joe said "I'm playing Good riddance tonight" with a smile on his face I laughed out loud. 😂 They all seemed very happy and smiled a lot. The more shows I go to the more I see how much I love this band. 💕 After this tour (this was the last show for me) I've realized that I need to start buying VIP tickets. Shows is so much better from front row and when you're around people who love the band as much as you it's a better experience. When I was waiting outside the venue I heard some talk about Good Riddance/Wonderwall and this one guy said "but he tell you which words to sing and which notes to play right". And I'm like what. If you don't know the lyrics why would you want to get up on stage in the first place. I laughed at the Wonderwall thing but come on. 😅2 points

Hilarious . I can't stand how people on Instagram take fans getting up on stage SO seriously and act like the crime of the century has beem committted because someone did a bad job or got kicked off for being silly instead of a REAL FAN being up there, it's beyond cringe.2 points

I think the majority of fans at a GD concert are mostly fans who know Westbound Sign and Haishkina and would love for album cuts. I don’t know if the band realizes that but when the play Brat, Stuart and the Ave, Scattered, Armatage Shanks, Worry Rock, parts of Redundant in the encore listen the fans sing along and go crazy same with Disappearing boy and one of my lies I just think they underestimate the fans love of their album tracks. Is just like to see them not just play the same stuff over and over on the 21st Century Breakdown tour they’d play album Cuts and at the time Drama Queen which was unreleased as well as Olivia and Minnesota Girl. I wish they’d understand how loved those songs are. Even Last Nigh On Earth gets a great response and that somehow wasn’t a single Murder City got good responses too. It’s wild how many deep cuts never have been played live. They should do their own era’s tour2 points

Yes! It's the first time I see an organizer actually take into account fans' feedback or try to support the fan-organized queue numbering system. Really 10/10 for the two Vienna shows. The merch is okay. I'm still pissed that they sell so many VIP tickets that the only way to get first row is with a VIP ticket though 🙄 Great for me since I can afford it and still queue. Not fair to the fans who cannot afford it though.2 points
