For those who don't know who Adam "AdamTheWoo" Williams is, he was an amazing YouTuber I grew up watching whose content would be focused on urban exploration, traveling the world, or just sitting down and talking about interesting topics. One of his traveling videos was actually to the Bay Area, where he would run around and document his visits to some Green Day landmarks, such as 924 Gilman, the Welcome to Paradise warehouse, Christie Road, Pinole Valley High, and some other places. It is a great watch and I highly recommend you give it a go, it is a really chill video. In the video, he talks about how he saw Green Day twice in 94, once in a small venue with a few dozen people, and five months later at a concert field. Green Day would inspire him to pick up the bass where he would eventually join the band Guttermouth for a brief period of time. They're a good listen! After that Green Day landmark video, he would upload daily for seven more years doing urban exploration, traveling the world, and honestly just... doin' dude things. He would succumb to a sudden but peaceful death in his sleep at his Orlando home at the age of 51. (Heart attack) I know I am a few months late writing this post, but I just wanted to pay my respects to a beloved YouTuber and fellow Green Day superfan. Rest easy, Adam. Huh, I must be blind because I never noticed he changes his ring. Even though I regularly zoom in on them lol. 🙃 I thought he always wore a fancy one. 😅 When my sister and I watched the performance the both of us appreciated how extra Tre was. 😍 I love how he always matches his make-up and outfits.5 points

Looks like there will be a video with Mike soon on a popular Scott's Bass Lessons channel!4 points

Yes, Tre was a fashion highlight. I was impressed! I got video footage of the show on IG regularly, and in the comment section there always were people suspecting that Billie was wearing a wig. The floof must be too impressive too be true…😂4 points

My sister in law and her boyfriend were over last night and she was looking at my CD collection and was impressed by how many Green Day albums I have and asked if I had them all, I said "except for two" (RevRad and FOAM), and my partner says "except for DOS!" So proud of him. I started laughing and his sister and the boyfriend were confused so I had to pull out the album DOS and explain. I'm not even sure how it has registered with him that that album exists, since I hardly ever play or talk about the trilogy.4 points

Can you imagine the work of these Billie-led bands as Green Day albums? How would they have been received? Pinhead Gunpowder / Boo / Tubbies / Billie and Norah / Billie Joe Armstrong / Longshot. I'm definitely not leaving out any projects from 2003 and 2020 because Billie was not involved in any side-projects during those years for year. Definitely not. Tonight, I'm cranking UNT and it feels good to hear Billie on songs that I haven't overplayed into eternity. Mumbles really freaks me out. It very specifically describes someone I know with those very specific things. Maybe all of us know someone that Mumbles describes, but it seems oddly, super duper specific to this person and I. The only difference is that the very last line "you spelled my name wrong on the note" would be "mumbles said I spelled her dogs name wrong on the note".3 points

Well the store seems to be back up now. Maybe it was just a publicity stun to get people into the store, because now I want this hoodie or this hoodie3 points

Yeah, my first thought was if this could be maintenance or something. But I do enjoy a little hype none the less The store is back up. Nothing new lol.3 points

Just watched the Super Bowl performance again and I noticed Billie is wearing a different wedding ring. This is a gold one but it looks fancy rather than plain, but definitely not the dark one he has been wearing recently. I can’t decide if he has loads and just changes them or loses them regularly. Also, how smart was Tre with his matching drums/tie/high tops and the stripe on his shorts!3 points

Gotta say that I'm not too fond on any of them, but for different reasons. Mostly presentation, specially on the demos side. For my consideration, the demos should be able to showcase an evolution (if they choose demos from different stages of writing, like the Nimrod ones) but they end up being presented in a messy way, and it bothers me. Warning demos seems to be the most consistent on that task, as American Idiot ones. I like the AI ones specially because it shows they actually disassembled whole songs to make the record, best example is Lowlife. B-sides are ok, for most part. For the live shows they went stingy and didn't pay for the covers and snippets, witch is sad not to be able to experience a uncut live show. Three special mentions: - Dookie outtakes are good for the most part, but pitch corrected voices on old releases sounds really bad. Chris Dugan did a good job trying to recreate the mixes (as Jerry Finn passed away long time ago, and the songs were never mixed properly), but the election of correcting the voices is lame. I expected a remix of J.A.R, as it never sounded finished to me, that hi-hat is too loud, but didn't happened. - Reprise did a really bad move in trying to masking the demo of walking the dog as a new source but actually is the mp3 rip from ages ago. Raw capitalism. - They missed the chance to finally show the original versions of Chump and Longview.3 points

Just listening through to the album again for the first time in a while and I still love it. So sad I only ever got to see them play TADIKM and missed the rest of the tour (health and stuff).3 points

Looking at Social DIstortion's new single "Born to Kill" and the text on the single - it's the exact font from Here Comes the Shock! Exactly the same. And a ton of Billie-Buzz words too. Cool!2 points

2,000 light years away’s re-recorded song can be heard on the jerky boys soundtrack and on YouTube. I love it. The Richard Dood remix of nimrod did he remix the whole album and why? If so is that available on YouTube or anywhere? Insomniac has imo the best live tracks they are super fast and raw and peak 90’s GD love the speed of the songs. 21st century breakdown will be the best re release on my view2 points

Interesting, I wonder how they'd incorporate that. Like it'd be interesting to have it actually added to the sequence of the album, as opposed to tacked on the end. On that note, I was looking up the Australian bonus track version on Discogs, and it claims that "You Lied" was the remix by Richard Dodd, but I don't see mention of that on the CD. That mix would have been on the Good Riddance single, though. Like I said earlier, it'd be nice to have a home for the radio remixes, though they're not as drastic as the Otis remixes from Warning. The Dodd remixes of Redundant and Good Riddance would have been the hit single versions, yet they're pretty rare nowadays. You'd think the greatest hits album(s) would provide a home for them. I think you can still hear the remix of Redundant on the music video, but the audio for Good Riddance might be subbed out. I think Insomniac's only remix was Walking Contradiction; you can still hear Steve Holroyd's remix on the music video. If a proper Insomniac anniversary set gets released down the line, that and the original Good Riddance are prime candidates.2 points

The only ring I've ever noticed being different is the engraved one that has 80 and a bunch of other stuff engraved on it. I have no idea what magazine I saw that picture on or even when in the last 30 years. I just remember I thought it was so personal and cool. Most of the time when people engrave rings they do it on the inside and I'm always thinking, what's the point of that? It'll wear out and you don't get to see it. Other than maybe a change in metals, I generally don't notice the difference in wedding bands otherwise even on my friends! I am also a bridesmaid in an upcoming wedding and I had to be told the bride changed her mind and got a different dress than the one we picked out together. I'm not the most observant.2 points

21CB was a phenomenal album. The first time I listened to it I was blown away! It was (and still is) the most amazing album I have heard in my life. I wonder if Butch Vig did influence that. Of course, I suppose I am a bit biased, being from Madison.2 points

As much as I like to nitpick things (as any obsessive fan would), the recent string of deluxe editions have really been a gift with what I believe is enough new and exciting content to re-buy an album that you already own. But it's been fascinating that they've taken a different approach with each of them, so I wanted to shoutout what I think works. Ironically, the first anniversary edition that started it all, Insomniac, is discounted from the list due to being much more barebones. Though it was seemingly the catalyst that convinced the label that fans are hungry for these types of releases. The best release that I keep coming back to is Nimrod 25. This is where they got it right; the album was supported by a whole disc of demos, and one of my favorite concerts of the era. I can't really think of any glaring omissions. I would like to hear Richard Dodd's remix of the album, but I wonder what the best presentation of that would be. Dookie 30 didn't disappoint either. The Barcelona show wouldn't have been my first pick for a live show, but it's still a nice time capsule. The main attraction was actually the Woodstock '94 show; I was confined to listening to this as a vinyl rip for years, now I have it in pristine CD quality. As for the demos and rarities, the Dookie demos have been the stuff of legend for years, and floated around as shoddy bootlegs. I'm grateful that we got an entire disc filled with demos and outtakes, but I'm still a little bummed at what was left out. Of the cassette demos that were previously leaked, I see the unique songs like Don't Wanna Fall in Love and the instrumental tracks as glaring omissions. There's no way they could have included everything, especially with the redundancy of tracks, but I think the curation of cuts could have been handled better; i.e. we have a demo of J.A.R. included, as opposed to a unique acoustic demo. Nevertheless, the quality of the previously leaked tracks is pristine, and is like listening to them for the first time. Billie Joe helped make this set even more special by donating his early 4-track demos that have never been heard before. One of my favorite parts of the release are the Dookie versions of 409 and Christie Road. Rob Cavallo worked some magic and made these outtakes sound exactly like the rest of the album. The accompanying essay mentions that 2000 Light Years Away was also part of these sessions, so that was disappointing to not include. Not to end on a sour note, but the Shenanigans B-sides and J.A.R. were also included. The inclusion isn't the issue, it's that three widely-available tracks made the cut when there were many, many other rarities that didn't. American Idiot might have been up there in second place, but there was a fatal flaw; they used the wrong master on CD. Everyone knows 2000s CDs were compromised by their loudness, and American Idiot was released smack dab in the middle of that era. The album was remastered in 2012; this was used for streaming and vinyl, but somehow left off the CD? This kind of quality control issue at the heart of an album anniversary release really sets my rating back. Otherwise, my thoughts were pretty similar to the Nimrod release; I loved the choice of live show, and enjoyed the entire disc of brand new demos. There was also another entire disc dedicated to B-sides. Now, I already busted my ass tracking down the CD singles for their B-sides, but I still appreciate having them all in one convenient place. Unlike Dookie, there was no "Shenanigans" for post-Warning B-sides. Only thing missing is the outtakes that were release in the 21CB era. Warning is another straightforward release. Once again, I'm completely onboard with the choice of live concert. However, they allegedly cut two songs from the concert? I still don't know whether it was confirmed that "When I Come Around" and "Church on Sunday" were played at that show, but making the decision to consciously cut them from the set would be pure lunacy, especially since Church on Sunday would become a rare deep cut from the era. We also have another solid assortment of brand new demos. We also have a good deal of recycling with four already widely available tracks; Outsider, Scumbag, Suffocate, and Poprocks & Coke. It's not so much a strike against the album, since it's not like it's taking the place of something else, but their inclusion is inconsistent; Outsider and Scumbag make sense, but then we have Suffocate from the Nimrod sessions. We have Poprocks & Coke from International Superhits, but not the version of Maria recorded for that album. Did they want to include all the tracks from International Superhits and Shenanigans across these releases or not? If you're a completist, you'll still have to buy them. Finally, I'd like to shoutout the rest of the outtakes. The B-sides NOT included on Shenanigans were Don't Want to Know if You're Lonely and the first version of Maria, and the brand new Otis remixes of Macy's Day Parade and Waiting. I think a couple live B-sides weren't included, but I'm not as concerned about those. So there you have it. Even though it was ranked best to worst, I think the quality across all four releases is pretty consistent and the wealth of unreleased content makes them must-buys.1 point

I'm convinced that it was through digital distribution; I've tracked down all the US radio single CDs, and even tried some foreign Holiday singles, but none had that edit. It might be specific to a radio station, if not for feedback from other people around the country back when I was on the hunt.1 point
-
The only versions I know of are the Radio Edit (with "Sieg Heil" completely silenced and "F*gs" censored) and the Clean Radio Edit (with "F*gs" censored), on both those edits the last chorus starts at around 3:03. If the bridge was cut the last chorus would start on around 2:18 and the whole song would be around 3:03 long. Maybe the version you're mentioning was done by local radio stations and was never pressed on CD's? I'm not sure. I have never seen any Holiday promo CD's out there with such an edit, but I don't want to discourage you in your quest That one BOBD promo with the Pop edits only popped up a few yeas ago, so one like that for "Holiday" might be sold some day.1 point

The engraving inside a ring lasts years and years, it’s the outside that wears which is why most wedding rings are plain. Billie has had a number, some have looked gold, possibly platinum but all plain, some different shapes and widths and then the dark one he has been wearing for the last couple of years but this one looks very bright gold.1 point

Is it weird for me to say i like how billie is shaped. Like not in a "oh yeah billie so hawt haha i like the shape of his body" way but more like "Oh haha ya sphere here square here spheres and triangles and squares and triangle yeah haha i like the shapes on billie "1 point

I'm still searching for it haha. I searched through all of Soulseek a little while ago, they only had the clean alternative radio edit. It's funny that I used to hear this version on the radio so many times that it was the default version of the song in my mind.1 point

I'm late to the party, but I just wanted to share my thoughts as a Green Day fan and coffee drinker (probably the target audience). I'm no coffee snob, but I really enjoyed picking up a cup of their brew in the morning. I'm usually lazy and settle for K-cup, so having a stronger and more robust brew like this was a treat. I was lucky that I had a participating Speedway near my house and a 7-11 near work, so I was always close to a cup (or a Kerplunk Slurpee in the summer). I was even able to get my Punk Bunny K-Cups from Speedway for home. I didn't know how good I had it back then. They phased out the coffee pots at Speedway and then 7-11. I was crushed because I was secretly hoping it would always be an option. Then they later brought back Mike Dirnt’s “Turn Up The Bass” medium roast at Speedway. Haven't been there in a little while, so I hope that's still there. Anyways, I found the 7-11 Colombia coffee is close enough to Punk Bunny, so that's been my replacement since then. Update: No more brewed Punk Bunny or Kerplunk Slurpee at Speedway 😞. Still K-cups and coffee bags, though1 point
