Green Day to play All Things Live in Dubai UAE in January 2025

But this 'isn't the topic of conversation'. I'm not trying to be contrarian by the way & I'm not trying to anger you & you seem like a cool person, I just don't get people who make statements like the one above but won't call out the real reason countries act that way & have such poor rights records is because of islam. That's just fact. - Today

New American Idiot documentary coming soon!
nopride84 replied to pacejunkie punk's topic in Green Day Chat
The interview that Mike did before the American idiot album title was released he talked about how they had all these songs but they felt it wasn't what they wanted to put out and the newer songs were much better. Maybe someone deleted them on purpose. Also we've heard tracks from cig and valentines like shoplifter and lights out. I always though governator was the catalyst for the first network album -

Hmm, I think the biggest thing I'm curious about is that when was Cigarettes and Valentines (the song) exactly written. I'm talking about the one that was performed in 2010 couple times and then never played nor referenced again. If that songs studio version isn't included in AI's anniversary edition, that supports my theory that the supposed Cigarettes and Valentines we've heard wasn't written until 21st Century Breakdown era. Songs existence overall is just extremely weird considering they haven't played any other songs from that album (or atleast haven't admitted X song is from C&V) and it seemed like its entire purpose was to be some extra track for Awesome as Fuck CD release. Hell, even the track itself isn't live from one show like the others. If we get studio version of that song with same lyrics and shit, then I'm even more confused about it. Why on earth would they then play it few times in 2010 and then just abandon it? Whole timeline just doesn't make any goddamn sense. -

I really hope so. 😯 Mike Dirnt said in an interview: "Lots of songs we’ve recorded in the past that no one has ever heard, things like that. Very good stuff." This is from the same link I put in my previous post. 👇 https://greenday.fm/news/billie-joe-announces-american-idiot-documentary/ -

Nothing new but 4 months away from September so really hoping to hear an announcement or teaser sooner or later -
On this day 15 years ago (12 May 2009), Green Day played the 700-capacity Le Trabendo in Paris. That was a very tiny show considering how huge they were then. More photos: There was also this press conference in Paris, although I'm not sure if it was on May 12th or the day before/after. More photos: 26 years ago (1998), they played in Lewiston, ME, on the Nimrod Tour. These photos are from a radio interview that day. More photos: And 32 years ago (1992), they played the Ritz Diner in Edmonton, Canada on the Kerplunk Tour. "The first time Green Day came to Edmonton they played 2 shows; first show was Sunday matinee/all ages at the Bronx and an acquaintance booked this show for a couple days later. This person didn't have the best reputation, so I helped him with shows to ensure that bands got paid and that flyers were put up. When the band arrived they weren't happy about the show being 18+ and that the bar was a strip club on the days we didn't have shows. They were cool to me about the situation and an all ages show was quickly put together at the Ritz Diner, just down the road. The roadie for GD on this tour was Aaron Cometbus, and I was quite excited to meet him and buy a zine. ...The Ritz show was so tiny, not a lot of people." — Shaun Cowan

Any more news on the documentary? https://greenday.fm/news/billie-joe-announces-american-idiot-documentary/ Saw this and saw that they will be reissuing the album for the anniversary and there will be some new songs we've never heard before. (I don't know if anyone said this yet) -
Cool poster! Is it one of a kind, because I've never seen it before.

I know some of you are very passionate about this topic, but this is getting out of hand. I don't agree with the rights in Dubai either, but just let them play their fucking show. - Yesterday

Y’all have a problem with them playing a country that has a questionable human rights record, but won’t dare speak out against the reason for the poor record. It’s because of a far right, oppressive, violent religion. That’s the reason for poor human rights issues. -
On this day 7 years ago, Green Day played a second night in Sydney, Australia on the RevRad Tour. More photos: 15 years ago, they played 10 songs from 21st Century Breakdown, then American Idiot, on the Canal+ TV show in Paris. 19 years ago, they played in Cedar Rapids, MI on the American Idiot Tour. I'm learning the names of lots of random American cities. And 22 years ago, they played in Woodlands, TX on the Pop Disaster Tour. Another photo:

It wouldn’t be bigoted to call out a bigoted religion though. -
On this day 7 years ago (10 May 2017), Green Day played in Sydney, Australia on the RevRad Tour. More photos: I'm just going to keep saying that I can't believe that tour was seven years ago, because what the fuck? When did that happen? Don't talk to me about how long it's been since the 99 Revolutions Tour. 19 years ago (2005), they played in Peoria, IL on the American Idiot Tour. 22 years ago (2002), they played in Selma, TX on the Pop Disaster Tour. 26 years ago (1998), they played in Schenectady, NY on the Nimrod Tour. And 32 years ago (1992), they played in Edmonton, Canada on the Kerplunk Tour. I admit I forgot yesterday. Thanks Rumpel.
