cj_unoxx Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I usually never read reviews because why should you? Everyone has there own opinion, like you might like this one album and then they go bad mouth it on the review. It's like trying to push Green Day on people that don't like them, they'll start hating on them. Basically my point is that if you like it, you like it. If you hate it, you hate it. Everyone has their own opinion
Yojimbo Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 But 'Fuck Time' is supposed to be stupid! :angry
Brother Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Really didn't like their comment in the review about how green day are too old to be singing about "spin the bottle" in Makeout Party. Oh, so if a bunch of 25 year old's started singing that in their songs, that would be age appropriate??? Any one who is older than 14 is too old for spin the bottle. Let alone 25 year old's and40 year old's.
Neon Light Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Well NME hated ¡Uno! but I loved it. So what does that say about our music tastes? (Hint: they're different)
Stephanie. Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 If NME thinks Dos is so bad why don't they leak it so we can judge it ourselves?
lagurney Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I really really like the sound of Dos. Some great songs on there, Amy is magical. I think we all need to stop worrying about reviews and chart performance as they're not going to be great. Chart success without a lead singer to advertise and critics moaning at how it doesn't sound like Dookie or American Idiot. These are pretty much now just albums for the fans, post rehab album will be the seller! Mr Public loves hearing about peoples troubles!!
dallasthemenace Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 These are pretty much now just albums for the fans, post rehab album will be the seller! yeah, i can see this happening. even another one off track after the trilogy has run its course, maybe another collaboration...
Asa. Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 So damn excited for this album! "Ashley" sounds amazing!
farley drexel hatcher Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I didn't think it was that bad of a review, not by NME's standards. They hate Green Day and will only feature them for their own gain. Not everyone will like it, specially publications like this one. And I agree about the lyrics to Makeout Party! They make me cringe.
DannyDirnt Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I just read NME's review of Fuck Time (didn't even bother to read the rest, I was just curious about that one) and they're totally wrong. It's not that they don't like Green Day, is that they have no idea of what they are writing. What do you want the comments to say if the song is actually supposed to be stupid? It has to have that bar sound, even if they just made up that of 'gay' bar in the review just to sound funny (no success though). It's a really really good song, very energic song. Sorry, but that review is awful and whoever wrote it should feel bad.
Heather. Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I haven't read past the first track review yet, but I'm immediately disheartened to know that See You Tonight is only a minute long acoustic strum. I was under the impression that this was the Simon & Garfunkel Mrs. Robinson esque song, and I definitely was thinking it was a full-on beauty and not a Song of the Century style throw-in. Oh well.
Insomniac45 Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I'm surprised Fuck Time got such a bad review. Still won't change my opinion on it. I fucking love that song. Also, I am now VERY excited for Ashley.
WrongWayToSalvation Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 music critics dont know a goddamn thing. Well, considering its their job to listen and analyze dozens of albums from a wide variety of genres, pretty sure they might know quality of music better than you do. Just saying, its kind of like criticizing a pro basketball player when you're only in a middle school team.
watchmefade92 Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I think "Fuck Time" isn't a good song technically (talking about the songwriting), but it's very fun and trashy, great for partying, and that's the thing the reviewer doesn't get.
SuperXCsabre495 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Do you guys think "Nightlife" will be played live during the tour?
Asa. Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Do you guys think "Nightlife" will be played live during the tour? I think it'd be cool...maybe they'll play it once or twice towards the beginning of the tour to see how people react.

Even though Lady Cobra wouldn't be there obviously lol, maybe Billie could bring a girl on stage to do the rapping part. That's only if someone can actually rap it lol

That's only if someone can actually rap it lol Well if anything they'd probably have her part pre-recorded, that'd make more sense. Though having fans do that might be cool, too.
Guest Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I'm honestly way more excited for DOS than UNO. Just because it's fresh, only 2-4 songs I've heard, but in all. It makes me giddy !!! And I'm wondering if there will be a deluxe version of DOS at Hot Topic.... I hope it's like something cool. If it's another box, I'll probably pass, haha.
The Grohl Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 What's great about DOS is that I have all the free time in the world to listen to it because when it comes out this job I'm doing is over
jacknovella Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 What's great about DOS is that I have all the free time in the world to listen to it because when it comes out this job I'm doing is over Haha same here! I'm going to be unemployed two days after it comes out so I'll have plenty of time to listen to it at home while looking for another job XD
SOMEONEKILLTHEDJ Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 when do you thin DOS will be streamed? (i think the 4-5th november)
