I just did this too! Surprisingly my body didn’t need too long to get back into the rhythm of things. I’ve just started my second “real” period since I began taking BC at 17!

Is it completely awful? I've forgotten what cramps are like.

SO awful! Plus, I have to remember to have tampons on hand now? Men have it so easy…

Update: Yup, it's fucking AWFUL. How did I do this as a 12-year-old girl? I can barely function right now.

They must have gotten worse, right? No wonder teenage girls are so shitty

After being on a regular cycle for more than a year, nothing this month 🤷‍♂️ my body is so dumb (it has nothing to do with poor eating habits and simultaneously over- and under-eating, I'm sure 😄

Yes, plus mine came a week early! I guess that's to be expected as my first post-birth control period, but I'm already freaking out about the possibility of just spontaneously bleeding at any random time if this keeps up.

I thought my body had found it’s rhythm, but it seems I’ve skipped my period this month 🤷‍♀️

Yeah, this adjustment is taking longer than I would've liked. These surprise periods suck.

It's hilarious to me that missing a single pill is characterized as some grave danger and immediate pregnancy risk because you’ll just magically go back to normal. Two cycles in and I'm still way shorter than I was pre-pill (23 days and 26 days) and it's all over the place (first one felt like I was dying and I could barely leave the couch, and this one was hardly even noticeable). I have no idea what to expect this month.

... how the hell is it acceptable for us to know so little about this affects our bodies?

I haven't had my period for almost three years until I had a small bleeding last week. I cannot understand how women are suppose to go through this shit most of our lives.

PCOS? (or a false negative)

I haven’t been diagnosed with PCOS, but I’ve wondered about it before. I’ll probably pick up some more pregnancy tests this weekend and try again.

I’ve been attributing the lack of period to my body adjusting after coming off BC earlier this year, and also starting a new medication… but it’s getting to the point where I wonder how much longer I can just chalk it up to those things. Guess I’ll call my doctor next month if it’s still a no show.

Idk if this makes you feel better or worse but my period never went back to normal in the four months I was off birth control before we conceived. I had the opposite problem with it being very short. I always ovulated around day 14 (I was tracking it with tests) but then the luteal phase afterward was just 9-12 days instead of 14 and unpredictable.

The month it worked, I started taking a supplement called inositol and my ovulation was then five days late. My doctor said it helps some women start to regulate and have a "stronger ovulation" (whatever that means) post-birth control. I'm not complaining but I now have no idea what to expect for my cycle postpartum.

The doctor also said depending on how long you're on it, it's possible the pill is just masking your body/period naturally changing as you age. So it probably can't hurt to check in with yours, they may want to run some blood tests just to make sure everything is OK! That would've been my next step if things didn't start to regulate in another month or two.

Anyone tips for a girl with extreme PMS? After the brith of my daughter everything when down hill. Got very bad cycle depression and heavy bleeding. 5 years later and now my iron level is very low. Been on pills for a year now but nothing seems to work. Tried different anticonception. Now I am on a very strong pil and got antidepressants (only for 1-2 weeks a month) and now  feel very blurry and down the last week not even being able to work 😥
