NothingButYourImagination
First day of shark week for me and everything makes me sad and wanna cry so much. I haven't been this moody in a while and hope it passes soon. Quote Link to comment
Paola17
If my period actually followed a cycle, I would be getting it this week. I just hope it holds off until after the Longshot show... Lining up for hours and in the rain is fine, but add this on top of it... nuh uh. Quote Link to comment
It's Splash Time
I was thinking that getting the implant actually stopped my period, since it was late, but then it turned up today, just much lighter? I hope. Quote Link to comment
Iva
Mine's been unusually short recently. Only some two days and then it just...fades. Quote Link to comment
AlissaGoesRAWR
I left work today with a horrible migraine, probably the worst I've had since going on my current birth control pill nearly a year ago (which, for the most part, had stopped my usual once-a-month migraines because it also stopped my periods). I feel like it's fair to assume it's related to the fact that I actually started spotting yesterday, on the last day of my placebo pills, which hasn't happened since my first month of being on this pill. I wonder if my body is getting used to this pill or something? I didn't miss one. I take it every morning at the same time. God, I don't want a period again. This is just a little reminder of how agonizing it was for me every. single. month. I intended on napping to make the migraine go away but ended up sleeping for about 6 hours. Now it's 1:30 a.m. and I'm wide awake. Cool. I haven't been feeling great this whole week to begin with, so I'm not sure if it's related to that, either. Last Friday, I woke up with a sore throat, congestion and itchy eyes but I can't really figure out if it's allergy-related or some kind of infection, but because most of everything I blew out of my nose was clear, I assumed it was only allergies. Montclare
Ah, that time of month when every insecurity is magnified 1000x. Hand me my cookie dough. (also, my phone wanted me to change cookie to collie. I guess a collie would work too.) Quote Link to comment
Hermione
Ugh why do my periods keep taking ages to turn up? I want to go swimming but I'm scared to in case it arrives, hurry up! Quote Link to comment
moonflower93
this time around, i got the headaches, stomach cramps (but they're like an upset stomach cramp and the feeling of you actually bleeding) Quote Link to comment

Goofygoldfish
Anyone out there with experience of hormonal /pmt moods getting a gozillion times worse the older they get? As previously, they don't last long, sometimes an extremely intense 30 angry seconds and I catch myself and think Wtf are you doing, and pull myself round. Other times, hours and hours if not a few days of grumpiness, irritability and end of world type sadness. All of these things I've had in varying amounts since day one of having periods, but recently they are getting way way more intense. Could this be perimenopause or whatever its called? It's Splash Time
You'd think after getting an implant and being on testosterone for 9 months would get rid of periods. Last week I had bad stomach cramps and few spots of blood on my underwear (after years of really heavy periods the blood feels like nothing, but I'd hope it would go away completely) I don't really want to mention it to the endocrinologist since it's barely anything, but he might not understand that and get me on further medication Quote Link to comment
Montclare
Have a friend's wedding tonight and it's day 1. Which of course means gaining 3.4lbs even though I haven't eaten anything bad. Thanks mother nature. 1 Quote Link to comment

She-Loves-Him
My need for pizza and chocolate is unreal. All I could think about yesterday was getting a pizza and a bunch of Aeros. Like, I could have killed for it. Had half a pizza and half a dozen mini Aero bars for dinner, and no one was harmed in the process. Brought half of my leftover pizza for lunch at work today and I am so furious I didn’t bring all of it. Praying there is pizza at my volunteer meeting tonight. I didn’t know I could feel so strongly about pizza. Quote Link to comment
pouty bitch
Does anybody else get severely depressed when they're on? And I don't mean like depressed because of hormones, I mean just being so over having to deal with this shit every month. I mean, I've only been doing it for like 8 years so far, and I'm already wanting to get a hysterectomy because I just can't face this for another 40+ years or so. 1 Quote Link to comment

Although I've been using a tracking app for about a year now and I think it helps take the edge off the frustration a bit. I thought I was pretty regular and still found it draining having to keep track - now maybe I'm just settling into a steadier cycle anyway at this age, but I've got a much better overview with the app. It's easier to prepare both literally with having products, painkillers etc. ready, and mentally. It's very accurate so I'm less on edge about when to expect it, more familiar with flow patterns, and aware of when the pain usually sets in. Basically it gives you less to think about. I'm sure there are loads of apps but it's called Clue (and no they're not paying me lol), maybe give it a go if you're not already? Also maybe this is old news but I only read about the science behind it recently - did you know that if you take ibuprofen early enough in a pain cycle it not only dulls the pain, but literally slows the production of prostaglandines which reduces the total amount of cramps?? I knew from experience that it's harder to manage the pain if you're slow to take them, but it's kind of mindblowing that you can actually stop cramps from happening, at least to a certain degree. 1 Quote Link to comment
Guest
I ordered birth control, and it was expected to be delivered today, per the tracking information. My period was scheduled to start today, according to my tracking app. It was a perfect coincidence. Well.. one of them was on time. 🙄 (not the pills lol) On 4/16/2020 at 3:15 AM, herewegoagain said: Also maybe this is old news but I only read about the science behind it recently - did you know that if you take ibuprofen early enough in a pain cycle it not only dulls the pain, but literally slows the production of prostaglandines which reduces the total amount of cramps?? I didn't know this, but I have started taking Excedrin leading up to it, to try to stave of the menstrual migraine. I think I'll try just using ibuprofen next month. Quote Link to comment

I get headaches pretty much constantly (yay) so haven't really tackled those but yeah a combo of nsaids and paracetamol sounds efficient. The key with cramps is definitely timing though, I get on the ibuprofen at the first hint of pain (or when the app lets me know it's around the corner) and just keep taking the max dosage for the first couple of days. Also could be a coincidence but I've had less flow and my periods shortened up to a day for the last few months having actively done this, which is nice. I think I jinxed it tho after my previous post about how regular and in control I've become because I ended up being two days late and it was the most annoying half week of imaginary/fake starts Quote Link to comment
