MassHysteria Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Green Day will be filming a video for their next single “21st Century Breakdown” with director Marc Webb.http://www.greenday.com/article.php?id=641
Nova-Caine Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Great choice of song, maybe this is what they'll do at the VMA's Lets hope the director does justice to it this time round :/
farley drexel hatcher Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Woah, that's a bit of a shock, I assumed it would have been EJNI'm not fussed though as this is just as good, it's one of my favouritesIt's here as well as GD.comhttp://www.videostatic.com/
Guest jetblackheart Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 It's on greenday.com I'm so excited!
Nikki_Nimrod Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 NICE!I was almost positive it was going to be EJN, but I'm just happy to finally know something now rather than just guessing what it was going to be. This song is one of my favorites off the album, I can't wait to see the vid!
Mato Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Nice...Even though, I don't think it's a ''single'' song, just like American Eulogy.But, who cares...?
Lauren Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Eh. Not my favorite track. It doesn't really seem like "single" material, anyway. but I guess they have to make the title track a single. looking forward to the video.
poisonoak Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 cool i guess this means it wont be the "new" version of ejn cant wait 4 the vma!!!!
Rezurgam Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Interesting. East Jesus Nowhere will be the 4th single then? Hopefully. Wouldn't be surprised if it won't be though. Good to know 21CB will be 3rd single though
.Militza. Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I though that EJN is the new single. Actually Courtney told us.Well, I'm still amused with this one.
norcalgreendayfan Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 What I thought East Jesus Nowhere was supposed to be the next single and what I was hoping for too but 21st Century Breakdown is a good choice too and can't wait to see what Marc Webb does with this video, I hope it will do the song justice.
blitzkriegdeb Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Is Marc Webb the same guy who did the 21 Guns video? If so, then
alexandrez Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 YEEESSSSSthis song is so fucking powerful!!!!YEAAAAA
.Militza. Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Interesting. East Jesus Nowhere will be the 4th single then? Hopefully. Wouldn't be surprised if it won't be though. Good to know 21CB will be 3rd single thoughI think EJN could be 5th single, because they're going the fast song, slow song, like they did on AI It was KYE, then 21guns, now 21cb, and it should be slow song, recording to that.
Spizz Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 yeah!!! yea yea yea yeay yeay!!!!That's all I have to say.
cabot gal Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I'm intrigued about the video; I'm thinking it'll be a performance one.
Guest jetblackheart Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I think it's awesome that they chose something different this time. You're right, it's not "single material" because the lyrics are far more intelligent and the song structure is so different from what they usually play on the radio. I think people are gonna love it because of that.
Sarahnade. Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I was almost positive it was going to be EJN.But I'm down with this! It's just a little surprising.I just hope EJN is going to be a single.I don't really want Marc Webb to direct it, though.I was hoping Sam Bayer would show up again.
Ila Reto Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 in one hand, i am excited. in the other, i know that the video will completely butcher the song's interpretations. they couldnt have just stuck with EJN- throw in a couple burning churches and play music in those pope outfits and be done with it?
