Seems like everyone uses GIMP... am I the only one working with Paint.NET? From my experience with that and GIMP (my experience with GIMP was limited), Paint.NET is a lot more like Photoshop, for people that are used to that.

The GIMP people also have a program called GIMPshop which is more like photoshop than the original GIMP is. All are free.

Just sayin', heh.

i think it would look better if there wouldn't be the color over their faces, but it's looks great anyway.

nah, i use PS. I just don't like Gimp... it's too complicated for me. Even if Gimp user say the same about PS.

My results. Meh... :/

When we posted our entries here, do we need to submit them on the GDA page again?

That's why my experience with GIMP was limited... I couldn't really figure it out.

I would be using PS if I could find the serial code I have to re-install it. I think my sister has the CD sleeve it was on, though. And she refuses to call me back. :pinch:

(I hope this isn't getting too off-topic...)

I fell like such a ditz for this, but I literally just learned how to render an image in GIMP. Thank you, eHow... Anyways, now that I know how to do that, I should be able to make a banner that doesn't suck. So, I'm going to try to make another one. Hopefully, the 3rd time will be the charm.

Ok so all those banners that have been added here since yesterday.... holy freaking crap! You guys/gals are amazing! I seriously should be spending more time in PS if I wanna get anywhere near that skill level. For those of you who are using PS, what version is it? I'm using CS2... is CS4 a big difference?

Haha, thanks. I'm a fast learner. :)

I actually use gimp, I'm too poor to be able to afford photoshop, haha.

That's why you don't load the trial and get the crack for the full program. I don't know any GFX-er that paid for their PS.

Hey guys.

GDA is looking to add a new member to the team as a graphic designer. This person needs to be skilled in Photoshop, reliable, and able to work in a team environment.

So do you think you're ready to join this team? What we want you to do, is make and submit one of our main banners for GDA. The banner should be 934px X 100px in size. It needs to say "The Green Day Authority" somewhere on the banner. It also should include newer pictures of the band, in which can be found in our lovely Picture Vault. Once you think you're ready to submit your banner for us to review, go to the Help GDA page and submit your form. You will need to upload your banner to a service such as Photobucket or Image Shack and provide the link to us.

We've gotten a handful of entries as of now, and a lot of them are great. I wanted to post this here too, because for some reason, some of you GDCers don't visit GDA on a regular basis.

Thanks!

I love you, Amy.

Eh, I did that before. Downloaded the free trial, but it's such a bother that you have to download ever how many so days. Gimp just works just fine for me. Practically the same results. And since I've used it for so long, it's no big deal.
