JohnnyNapalm Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 how do you wote for the teen choice awards? link?
Elizabeth_ Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 It's still in the top 10 in New Zealand, But my God do they thrash it on the radio stations. I can't even listen to it anymore I'm ashamed to say
Punk Rock Love Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I only listen to the radio while I'm at work. I hear "Know Your Enemy" being played at least once every night, but they've never played "21 Guns". I don't watch MTV, so I have no idea about that, but I know Fuse does play it quite a bit. Personally, it's one of my least favorite tracks off of 21st Century Breakdown.

HoneyDo666 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 how do you wote for the teen choice awards? link?Go to teenchoiceawards.comRegister (it doesn't take long), then vote them for Best Rock Group, Best Album: Group, and Best Rock Track (KYE)I know some people think it's not worth voting, but Green Day love their fans, so I think it's worth it.I am still in love with 21 Guns, I don't think I could ever stop loving it!
Brian Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I just heard 21 Guns playing in the background of the NFL Hall Of Fame induction ceremony.
ParadoxAndPlaid Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 In the one hour I had a radio on this week I heard 21 Guns, I'm either lucky, or it's doing well and being played often.
SlappyDJ1 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 its not even on itunes as a single. I think its doing badly.
HoneyDo666 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 its not even on itunes as a single. I think its doing badly. It's #14 on the iTunes singles chart.
Alan86 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Even though its not topping the charts, it seems to have good staying power in the charts. I think its doing well.
Samantha Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I just don't think this album is going to be as popular as AI, though it's far better IMOAt this time during the AI phenom, BIAB was a fucking disease that was only curable by playing it over and over and over...
JohnnyNapalm Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I just don't think this album is going to be as popular as AI, though it's far better IMOAt this time during the AI phenom, BIAB was a fucking disease that was only curable by playing it over and over and over...i agree with you there on both accounts. american idiot just wasnt really green day, although its their most successful album. nah i love bullet in a bible. except im disappointed when i come around isnt on it -_-
Jesus Of Suburbia 95 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 21 guns peaked at 36 in the uk right?
HoneyDo666 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I just don't think this album is going to be as popular as AI, though it's far better IMOAt this time during the AI phenom, BIAB was a fucking disease that was only curable by playing it over and over and over...BIAB came out a year after AI, it's only been 3 months since 21CB was released! We can hope that they'll win a whole bevy of Grammys!21 Guns had a huge jump on the European Hot 100 from #55 to #20 this week! The album is up to #6 on the European Album chart, up from #9 last week.Up to #5 on the Rock songs from #6 last week.I think 21 Guns is really helping the album, with this big increase in sales and airplay!
MascaraTears Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 21 guns is doing really well in the US... on itunes, it's at #13 in the top 100 songs, and like #30 or something in the top 100 music videos. and every time I watch a show on MTV or VH1 where they play music videos, they always play it.

This song is amazing! And it's moving up the charts pretty quickly!
Harriet Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 In the UK, it's gone from 36 to 40 this week.. i don't think it'll even chart next week
HoneyDo666 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Huge jump from 40 to 27 on the Eurocharts Hot 100!It has a huge "HOT!" symbol next to it!
thecomedian Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 On Finnish album chart 21CB is doing pretty well. It debuted on #4, then fell to #25 few weeks after the release. Now, after the release of 21 guns, the album is back in top-10! Last week it was #9, now #8. The strange thing is though that they play much more often Peacemaker in the radio than 21 guns..
Mar Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Just saw it on MTV Hits plus they played a little bit of EJN before the video (which kind of was a hint to me to stay on the channel and not go back to Colbert since they may play their video next...glad I did!)
HoneyDo666 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 ^ We don't know, it's likely though21 Guns is the top fan-rated video on MTV.com with a 96% positive rating!Last week it was #1 on MTV Canada's Big Ten. KYE also hit #1.#15 on iTunes#15 ON Canada's Hot 100For those who thought Green Day is no longer popular, I suggest you read the comments on the video on MTV.com. They are all like "Glad they're back! Another hit from Green Day!" and telling others to vote for them at the VMAs.
Mar Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 MTV sucks, yet I do think they are supporting them well. Radio is kind of hit or miss though, and that's why I think it's not totally catching on yet. Radio is dying, but it's still very influential.

Radio is dying, but it's still very influential.I heard it was very popular on the radio in certain places. I think we can actually thank MTV for making this great song a hit! The VMA nomination and their upcoming performance for that large on audience will really help the single and the album!

The VMA nomination and their upcoming performance for that large on audience will really help the single and the album!Yeah, I hear it on the Detroit station a lot, so I know it's doing well there, yet reading this thread I get the impression that some markets aren't picking it up.Also, the stations where it's getting played are ROCK stations. Compared to WMUWSE and BOBD, which got plenty of play on Top 40 and later Hot AC stations, it's not as well known. So, in terms of the Hot 100, I think that might be what's keeping them from climbing as high as the other singles.
