Popular Post Sanity Loan
Use this thread to talk/speculate about the for-sure-happening-but-not-announced world tour that Green Day will be going on with Weezer and Fall Out Boy (well, in all reality, Weezer and Fall Out Boy are going with Green Day but you understand what I mean).
Popular Post Little Boy Named Booze
I feel like I'm the only one excited about this tour if it's true. It's perfect. I'll be sure to have tickets 5
Popular Post Ross_19
My brain hurt doing this post, so I'm gonna re-post it here cos I just made it... Definitely isn't a surprise that something like this is happening. In recent years Crush have paired up a load of their clients for tours. Panic and Weezer, FOB and Panic, so on. The benefit in it for Crush is money as has already been said. The benefit for GD could be gaining new fans, because I would predict that if you asked any teenager these days who is more popular right now, they would say FOB. In the UK where I am, both Green Day and FOB sell out arenas I believe, I know GD does for sure, so I can picture a stadium show happening but in that photo from a few pages back neither of the venue names are correct as has been mentioned. Although I remember somebody with inside info said they'd heard that GD, FOB and Weezer would be doing a show in London and Yorkshire, where The London Stadium and Huddersfield are respectively. I don't know if this validates or disproves that leaked photo. Either the person making that post has taken what somebody on here said and created a fake poster for the show, or they have the correct information and have gotten the venue names incorrect. A couple of others have mentioned that they wouldn't mind this tour as long as GD's set doesn't shorten and the prices aren't HUGE. I'm in the same camp as you guys... I'm sure that at this stage of their career GD won't sign up for a tour where their normal set will be cut by an hour so I think how long they play will stay the same. FOB have said in the past that Green Day are one of their icons (I'm sure you've all seen them inducting GD into the Hall of Fame) so I can see them being up for the tour even though their regular set time will be almost cut in half. So I imagine it would be 30 minutes for Weezer, 45 minutes to an hour for FOB, and then GD do their thing! If you factored in a 15 minute changeover between Weezer and FOB and then 30 between FOB and GD, you're looking at 5 hours tops, which is doable I think.

Popular Post 1039SweetChildren
I can understand why people are disappointed because three headliners likely means a shorter set for Green Day, but I think this is a pretty great line up and I’m excited. The bands are on fairly equal levels of success at this stage of their respective careers and all have great songs.. Hoping ticket prices aren’t absurd though
penbreaker
I like Weezer and don't mind FOB. Main problem for me is that won't be Green Day tour and others as supports but all of them will be equal. (probably). Anyway I am form Poland so I should not worry because they will not visit us anyway. Heh 3
KGLWW
I don’t think this tell us anything about the possible leak. Yes its a heavier rock sound, but it also sort of sounds like fallout boy, just like say goodbye from rev rad
jumpsalty
One thing I do like about this is if it’s true, it shows green day are still open to new ideas and new experiences, which I like. I can imagine the same routine of album tour album tour album tour can get a bit predictable after a while That said I also can’t see them settling for super short sets or to not be ‘headline’ either so 😂 I guess we’ll have to see how it plans out!
Maddie86
I don't care for fallout boy at all, but weezer is one of those bands that I've been meaning to go see for a while now. Weezer is one of my best friend's favorite bands, so this would be really cool for both of us to go to! And I'm sure green day will do some touring before this, they'll probably do a run of shows as the album comes out, so I'm sure we'll have a chance to see some regular green day sets before this happens 🙂
RedundantIdiot
I wrote this in the anticipation thread, but I think is more appropriate here now that this thread has been created. For those who are wondering how much time GD would have on the stage if Weezer and FOB played before them, here's what happened at the Emirates stadium gig with All Time Low and the Kaiser Chiefs: All Time Low: 10 songs Kaiser Chiefs: 12 songs GD: 30 songs I'm neither for or against a tour with Weezer and FOB, but if it happens I'd imagine Weezer would play about 10 songs, FOB 12-15, and GD about 25-28. So about 30 minutes for Weezer, 45 minutes-1 hour for FOB, and the rest for GD.

Weezer overall isn't as popular as either, at least afaik but they had a bit of a resurgence in popularity with the White album in 2016. All Time Low is nowhere near GD's level of fame, and I don't even know the Kaiser Chiefs so I'm going to say the same for them
Joe.
As I said on the other thread before I saw the split, it’s not that big a deal to me. Weezer have been an opening act for plenty of other bands of Green Day’s size, and imo FoB are no different to a Slaves-type band (in the UK) as someone exciting to try and bump up ticket sales. Theyd still be the headline act on the bill as normal and play full sets…

Popular Post Beerjeezus
Really bummed out. I used to think that if the album isn't great I can still be happy to see them live. Never would I have guessed that this tour excitement will be gone before the album is even announced. 4
Popular Post pacejunkie punk
I’m unhappy for the same reasons as everyone here — worse views, higher prices and shorter sets. This is not Green Day touring with two big support acts; it’s not being billed as a Green Day tour. It’s a package tour like Pop Disaster was. Weezer will likely be the “Jimmy Eat World” of the lineup and Fall Out Boy and Green Day are the Blink/GD co-headliners meaning sets of equal length probably no more than 90 minutes each. They can’t really showcase a new album with this kind of tour it will be a greatest hits show like Pop Disaster was. I think it will do very well for them and will be fun for them and I’m happy that they’re excited. They’ll sell out stadiums and gain fans. I just hope they tour the rest of the year on their own for those of us who want to see longer, deeper sets and multiple shows because no way am I going to this thing more than once.
