Honestly I didn’t know. I knew they were recording USA (for GH album) and Billie was making demos for a TBA thing. Short answer, no, I didn’t know exactly what it was, as did anyone including I believe Billie at that time.

Anyone notice the first beat sounds exactly like Longview?

Although I did request later than others here, I have seen more than 300 people being accepted since I first applied. Oh well, I think it’s fair to say there are quite a few other people also in that exact situation here haha

Dont worry, I'm in the same spot too. Ah well, hopefully the page goes public sometime soon. I doubt it'll be much longer before everything gets announced, I still have a feeling something will get released this weekend.

It used to be Tuesdays but they changed that in 2015,  but who knows?

i'm an idiot *facepalm* so I'm so used to y'know unfollowing and following Longshot 'cause I haven't been accepted yet and... *frowns* so they did accept me 'cause a minute ago the page said 601 followers and as soon as I didn't realize that and I unfollowed and followed again and yep... its back down to 600  so I think he accepted me but I just now messed it up

I'm not expecting much either, because I never posted anything on Instagram and I don't know how that shit works! All I could do, apart from pushing the request button, was to send a direct message to the Longshot account, requesting to get in. Now I'm imagining it wasn't properly sent and that's why I don't get any response. Complete loser...

It seems I haven't downloaded all what's necessary to post... Also, is it possible to just post a simple message on your feed with a #, without any picture or video? Just the message? If not I will try to post my first picture with a longshot #, but I doubt only that will get his attention

The newest clip is “Goodbye to Romance” by Ozzy Osbourne. Green Day covered it in 2011 at the Tiki Bar and they recorded it during the Trilogy sessions as well

When new clips are released, can people be sure to say it’s from the official account for those of us still not accepted? This is how I got confused before, not knowing what was real and what was BS.

A cool thought is that this is the first Green Day side-project that's being released during a time when Spotify by far outweighs radio. Spotify has a lot more of an organic system as far as music spreading - if people like it it'll spread. With radio it come's down to middle-men making decisions (guessing what the listeners will like and deciding what to invest their money in), with the exception being if a song is already a success on Spotify - radio will then almost immediately add it into heavy rotation. In fact, 75% of current radio hits are because they were organic Spotify hits first.

Who knows if these new songs will resonate with mass amounts of people - tons of current big radio songs originally gained momentum completely unexpectedly. The artist would just throw it on Spotify, not taking it too seriously because they thought people wouldn't "get it", and then it snowballed organically. This is a scenario that can only happen in the age of Spotify and streaming and it's cool to know that it's possible for Green Day, The Longshot.. whoever.

I don't know for you, but I have Windows Vista on my computer. Instagram app can't be downloaded on it due to Vista being too old. I can only have an account and follow people. It s*cks because I am as much a fan as any other people who have been accepted. I'm not posting on Instagram because I just can't afford to have a recent system on my computer and now I'm «missing the fun» just because of that. I don't know what to do to see my request accepted except asking Billie about it on Twitter.

I just verified it by doing my first post a few seconds ago on my account with my phone. In short, pictures of Billie as to say here I am, big GD fan, and I'm only showing up because of you, so now please accept me on the damn account 

Even if it doesn't work, I'm glad I finally did this, posting something, and it feels right to do it now because it's really how I feel: I want so much that he notices me, as it turns out that he does notice fans in a much closer way by selecting who comes on the private account, and I'm willing to get over some of my reticence as to give it a real try. It’s kinda happening already.  Still Breathing now has over 40 million streams on Spotify which is more than most of their back catalogue, and Bang Bang isn’t far behind.

I don’t think you can post to Instagram on a computer anyway, regardless of how new or old it is.  I’m pretty sure the only way to upload photos is by downloading the app on your phone.

It was Green Day that dragged me onto Twitter and Instagram. I wouldn’t have signed up for either but for the fact I wanted to follow them (catch live videos when they happen) and comment to things. Glad I did, the learning curve was not that steep and it’s been a lot more fun interacting.
