  1. I love it when Billie puts his hair back with a bandana.

  2. That fan was me. Actually, everything he said has been what has happened. They left Warner (kinda) and are moving on to release singles and EPs (exactly what he told me). He was saying that they were going to get away from the album cycle format so they could release things more often.

  3. Was thinking the same thing. And when was the last time we saw him in pants that loose?

  4. I have been a fan of what has been released so far as teasers! Regardless if it ends up being an EP or an album, I am thrilled either way. Although, I find it harder to believe that they would do this much teasing for an EP, but what do I know. At this point they owe us nothing in terms of new music, so whatever they make that meets their musical desires makes me happy. My hope is that by the time they have their gig before the Super Bowl in a few weeks, that they at least have a new song for whatever 1972 ends up being. If you want impact for promo for this project, at least having one song out to play live for the first time like that would be tremendous promo. I am not sure if it will be streamed/telecasted anywhere, but it would help drive some interest for what is next. If it is streamed in any way, it won't draw the same numbers for the halftime performance at the Super Bowl, but what you see for anyone who does perform usually has a new tour, single, album, or all three things promoted directly after the performance. This could be an opportunity for that for these guys. Here's to whatever is next!

  7. And then they’ll announce that this is an album!!! 😜

  8. What color should the album cover be? I'd like a nice purple or a darker shade of red. Maybe an abstract painting of some kind. How do you guys feel about Dolphins and Kangeroos? Maybe Pukey transforming into a human Animorph style.

  9. It sounds good, just good. A sequence of power chords and that's it, but the 99R cloned riff at the end doesn't excite at all. It's nice that it's somewhow reminiscent of 21st CB or Revrad. I look forward to punch-in-your-face guitars, like on Restelss Heart Syndrome around 3:50 / Horseshoes.. / East Jesus Nowewhere.

  11. Billie did it to himself by saying it was… but I get the sense they’ve recorded more than 6 songs and it will be an album

  12. It Will be an album or a trilogy of EPs for their birthdays... They are creating too many expectation for only an EP

  16. And feature each person on the cover 😅 But seriously I think that's great, I just highly doubt they'd do another trilogy Who knows!!

  19. I guess I need to head over to the "you know you're a Green Day fan when...." thread because I live somewhat near Atlanta and I would totally go on a guitar-stalking road trip just for a glimpse at those beauties. Legal guitar stalking is okay. I'll keep repeating that to myself. I'd even protect them for the band. Anybody tries a guitar-heist, they've gotta go through That Dude!

  22. Yes the source is from a guy named Alex Martel, , owner of the Montebello Rockfest, really known in Quebec City for his abilities to bring big bands. He already said last year that Green Day was supposed to tour in North America only during the Rev Rad tour. Last I heard they still want to do it. Maybe for 1972 ?

  28. I'd say Costa Rica 2010. It was slightly over four hours. After that probably the Warfield in 2005 when the Network opened Setlist here https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/green-day/2010/estadio-ricardo-saprissa-san-jose-costa-rica-bd57542.html

  30. You're infringing on my copyright with a post of this nature, I keep checking for Mystic Knights of the Cobra news, but nothing. I love all the speculation, but I know what follows these Teasers are not going to be what any of us are dreaming up in our heads. These are very short pieces of songs and probably don't represent any kind of sonic inclination the band has. I know, I know. That Dude tempering speculation. Insanity. I need a nap. That Dude Jr. has been a bit much today.

  31. Great stuff! I'll quote one of the comments by user "gremlin30" that gives a detailed run-down of the equipment in the picture and then there's some corrections/additions to that by "jstrummer", for all the geeks out there:

  40. 15 Great Alt-Rock Songs Inspired by Literary Fiction Green Day, “Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?” Green Day and The Catcher in the Rye both left subversive, humble beginnings for mainstream acclaim, but while Billie Joe Armstrong embraced the limelight, J.D. Salinger absconded to rural New Hampshire to live the remainder of his life as a recluse, his final work publishing in 1965. The Oakland trio’s slacker punk paean “Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?” sees the 19-year-old Armstrong paying homage to Holden shortly before he was cemented as a similarly influential voice of the MTV generation. Catcher was the novel that was in Mark David Chapman’s pocket when he murdered John Lennon and was, for a time, simultaneously the most censored and most widely taught literature in America’s public schools. Like Green Day’s early music, the book serves as a pocket journal for directionless youth, striking a power chord with iconoclasts and suburban burnouts years later. https://floodmagazine.com/97966/15-great-alt-rock-songs-inspired-by-literary-fiction/?fbclid=IwAR3AwUJFCG98IaodLvnuhZD6-pMkQo5YGYpdtI7VV-1P13KZzIUctqk0H88
