  1. Green Day opened for Blink 182 and now look at the difference between those two bands. I’m ok with the horror knowing they rule all and will always rule even if they’re opening for the flavor of the minute. Although at this moment Fall Out Boy have been round for way longer than a hot minute. But seriously: American Idiot - the band is legendary and iconic - they even had that album turn into a musical which is wtf?? And it was performed all over the world. That’s like skipping stones over galaxies of genres and age groups etc. I love all the GD eras but that record changed their icon status for good.

  2. I don't think it was ever implied at the show I attended that anyone was trying to outshine Green Day, because they know it isn't possible. Before Green Day went on they played like a two-minute hype video. Patrick wore a Green Day hat during their performance, and Pete made comments about how they were influenced by Weezer and Green Day and it was surreal to be on tour with them both... so I think everybody knows where they stand.

  3. watch this, if you think masks are useless / dont help / "traumatize your kids", then you are just stupid imo, no insult but thats a fact then

  5. We're in agreement on vaccines. But there is overwhelming agreement in the scientific community that masks HELP mitigate the spread of virus. There are always going to be outlier studies that people try to point to, always happens with misinformation. But I've got an anecdotal question for you. Flu and colds were down during the period of mandatory masking in 2020/21. Not just a little bit. It was a fraction of what we usually see. I'm a nurse, and in my setting we saw 0 cases of flu, which has never happened in my entire career. This was before vaccines were available. These are viral illnesses, just like COVID. If masks don't work, how would this be possible? It was nationwide, and the only variables were mass use of masks and social distancing, compared to any other year in recent history. Also if masks don't work, why do nurses and doctors bother wearing them when treating patients who are in isolation with a communicable disease? Do you think anyone would dare go in into that room without a mask? This is basic.

  6. Totally worth the read for this bit 😄 (Now how do you apply to be a wardrobe girl haha): “That's a tough one. I don't know if this rates as 'Spinal Tap', but Billie Joe Armstrong split the crotch of his jeans at one show. We were doing a huge outdoor festival and there was no quick change booth, so Billie came over to our guitar world and while a couple of us held towels up, the wardrobe girl helped change his sweaty pants in about a minute, it's was like a NASCAR pit stop!!”

  9. Being isolated from one another probably helped with that as well. It's a unique result that will probably never be the case again, but I appreciate the emphasis on staying clean and handwashing. COVID has at least given us permission to care for our bodies more. If I see some guy scratching his crotch then trying to shake my hand, I have a polite way to decline lol.

  13. Yeah! I love that they're never too concerned about having a cool image to be silly and have fun. You never get that "too cool for the room" vibe from them as a band/performers, they're just natural and genuine and I really think that's what makes them the best. Billie is ho as hell on this tour......I can't believe I have to wait another year to see them 😭

  14. I like the white and the pink jackets- they really suit him and work well with his black clothes (albeit he takes the jackets off after a couple of songs). His styling has been really good so far this tour. Hard to believe he'll be 50 next year. As for the nose picking it's just Billie being Billie.

  15. I agree with this too. I was thinking I would like to see a mask mandate for people at shows in areas with high positivity but I've kind of changed my mind. The vaccine is available to anyone who wants it. If you go to a show unvaccinated and with no mask and get a whopping dose of Delta variant and end up on a ventilator, that's on you. At least as a vaccinated person at a show with a mask, I know the chances of me getting severe illness is miniscule.

  18. Is it widely accepted in all these reviews that Green Day dominates the show? I mean, come on. Weezer and FOB are okay, but they can't hold a candle to the way GD performs live - most bands can't.

  19. Isn‘t it sad that it needs a global pandemic that people start to respect the hygienic rules, that we all learned in preschool? 😄

  20. I'm not telling anyone what to be comfortable with, I wear a mask in public and at work for 8 hours a day, but you're standing in a sweaty pit crammed in like sardines and you're going to be jumping about and crashing in to others. I respect the decision to wear a mask in that environment, I know somethings better than nothing, but it kinda seems like trying to put a wildfire out with a water pistol in terms of effectiveness. That's not to say don't do it, not to say masks don't work, but you've got to be realistic.

  22. I don't know why people say "trust the doctors and scientists." You don't even need to. Go pick up an Intro to Biology textbook from the last 60 years and it'll have all you need to know about viruses and vaccines.

  25. Purely cynically, part of me wonders how many tickets they'd actually be able to sell in that case in places like TX etc.

  26. Ok, I wasn’t aware of that. I know some mask types (like FFP2/FFP3 etc.) definitely protect the wearer more than standard surgical masks, but nonetheless there’s something disconcerting about unvaccinated and unmasked people coughing in your face, even if you yourself are fully vaccinated and wearing a mask…

  27. It's so weird that Weezer are an opening now. When my dad and I saw them with Panic at the Disco, we could not believe Weezer went first. Think about this horror show for a minute. In the future, Fall Out Boy could be last with Green Day and Weezer opening for them. Yikes.

  29. You're saying the size of droplets vary? When I sneeze, whether I have bacterial pneumonia or a virus, the size of the droplets I spew are the same. What you're not understanding is viral load. The only masks that give almost definitive protection to self and others are N95 which are only for medical use. Yes, with cloth masks if you are for instance in a crowded room with people who have COVID and you have a cloth mask on, some viral particles will get through the mask. But it will decrease significantly the number that do. Hence decreased viral load. Decreased viral load lessens the chance of having symptomatic disease, and lessens symptom severity if you do have COVID. Which in term decreases spread, because the less symptomatic you are the less you will spread it That's how it works, and that is what the actual data shows.

  34. This. I have heard loads of discussions since winter of people being amazed at how few coughs/colds etc we have all had and my daughter-in-law who is a doctor is in hysterics, she can't decided whether to laugh or cry and saying things like "WE TELL YOU NOT TO SNEEZE ON EACH OTHER" and "WASH YOU HANDS". So much of this is very, very simple!

  38. A decision that can lead to killing others who haven't been vaccinated yet or can't be. That prolongs a global pandemic that is killing people and destroying jobs and industries. And a decision based on believing anti science and conspiracy theory bullshit. Ignorance and selfishness doesn't deserve to be respected. Let me guess, no one you love has died from covid? Because there's other factors besides masks. Imagine believing uneducated politicians and media personalities or your own uneducated hunches in a field you have no expertise in over scientists and doctors.

  39. You've got to be kidding. Mask wearing for mitigation of COVID spread is now one of the most well-studied and data proven medical topics out there since the pandemic started. I could list 10 solid studies right here, and that would only be the beginning. Where are you getting your information on this? As far as your other point, if you look at graphs, spikes consistently occur when people loosen up and stop wearing masks, then go down again when everyone realizes there's an uptick and starts wearing them again. The spike you're speaking of would have been much worse without masks.

  42. You’re fixated on one anecdotal result. Without looking at social distancing, general mixing, prevalence of the variant in society etc etc. You’re literally mixing up correlation and causation. when world wide mask wearing is shown to reduce case volume.
