  1. I've never seen that gif of him wrestling the bunny to the floor. I want to be that bunny! They get to be pulled in close to Billie and I'm so jealous! Anyway, I made this last night and it's the perfect combination of yell, smile, and hair.

  2. To be fair I would rather see a Network, Foxboro Hot Tubs or Longshot tour than a Green Day tour at any time ever

  4. *Off-topic start* Oh yeah fascinating it certainly is, I just feel like (dare I say it) that there are some select areas where people are doing research not so much because the results would be beneficial to humanity, but just because it's very exciting/fascinating to push the boundaries of what can be physically done. I'd say that kind of research is pretty much the exception, but this is one of those areas (in my humble opinion). I mean, I totally get it, if I were in the researchers' shoes I'd probably do the same. But yeah, it's honestly starting to be a little unsettling.. *End of off-topic* Speaking about the song, I've got over my inital "shock" to be honest. I don't know where the guys and especially Billie are in their life, wether they were having a blast recording this or not, but it doesn't matter. I've also been feeling rather grumpy in the last few months of lock-down so I've kinda adopted the position of who am I to judge lol. Yes, I still think it's a terrible song and I absolutely think they can do better. But they probably know either of those things too. I suppose Billie (and the rest) kinda need to get some time off where they can get out there again, but just have fun, no pressure. I feel like a propper full-length Green Day/ Foxboro Hot Tubs club tour would do them really good!

  5. Restaurants/pubs/cinemas etc in the UK aren't even allowed to open (other than for outdoor stuff) until May 17th at the earliest. I get they want to try stuff out but I highly doubt stadium gigs will be happening the following month.

  6. @Montclare, I need to thank you! I've been experiencing a dearth of Green Day dreams for awhile now, but I think reading your dream sparked my brain into action somehow because I had three last night! The last one was of Mike singing an outstanding version of "We Are The Champions" and some other great songs. It didn't even sound anything like him. He was also playing a non-bass guitar.

  10. I don't know. I might be talking non-sense. I haven't talked with anyone for several months now openly. I am just writing here. Don't take my words seriously, it's quarantine.

  11. I agree! This freaked me out, but itā€™s fascinating at the same time. I went down the AI generated music rabbit hole and found lots of uncanny stuff. Check this out: https://jukebox.openai.com Some are less accurate than others, but itā€™s unsettling either way.

  12. I would love to try that out. Code to make it happen is open source, so Iā€™m surprised no one has tried it yet.

  14. And even if they ā€œallowā€ stadium gigs.. there isnā€™t a single major touring band who would transport equipment over just to do the UK
    1 point
  15. It wonā€™t happen if itā€™s just the UK though, itā€™s not worth it financially if the EU tour canā€™t happen neitherwill the UK

  17. Looks like the UK is trying this out to get people into larger gatherings and concerts. So maybe some hope for this concert to return. UK to pilot use of coronavirus passports at upcoming large gatherings The United Kingdom is reportedly planning to test "coronavirus status certifications" in the next few weeks to determine whether or not people can return to mass gatherings such as concerts, sporting events and nightclubs. the trials will collect evidence on how different factors affecting events such as ventilation and social distancing could allow large events to resume, citing British authorities. People who attend such events in April and May will need to be tested for the coronavirus before and after attending. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/uk-to-pilot-use-of-coronavirus-passports-at-upcoming-large-gatherings/ar-BB1fiJhd?ocid=ob-fb-enus-1541512262291&fbclid=IwAR0E-YkBBBn4300xR2Olpv57P_WWUqLx3hL6LW_drF5loMhbQ8jl75Y5L3I

  18. WOW, Walmart??? Shocked they're carrying vinyl. this was a fun read, thanks for sharing! I'm honestly kinda surprised they decided to remaster this from digital rips of the masters rather than using the original analog tapes...

  22. Not sure where it's best to download it but it's on youtube. You should also check out the other 21st CB b sides if you haven't heard them - Hearts Collide, and covers of Like A Rolling Stone, A Quick One While He's Away, Another State of Mind, and That's All Right. All good stuff.

  23. I have nothing valuable to add here other than right now I would rather see a Network tour of the new material than a Green Day tour.

  24. It says on the US webstore that the cards and CD will be shipped on the 16th so we will get notifications then. I guess it was delayed because of Covid.

  25. You would think wouldn't you? You know what would be even better? A statement from the band and maybe a new song to make up for it.

  26. And the way our boys hugged each other at the end of the shows, and had the masks etc, it was just lovely! it was really special, I was so proud of him, I think a lot of us sobbed šŸ„²

  27. Yeah, same with Canada. No way the Toronto show is going ahead. I can MAYBE see some shows happening in the states that have just opened everything up because they no longer give a fuck, but at the same time, would they do a tour of this size with minimal dates? Idk. Honestly, I'm getting a bit frustrated that they haven't said anything. Most bands/artists that had tour dates booked for this year have at least cancelled, postponed dates again, or even have just SAID something by now. The fact that the European shows are under 2 months away and we've heard nothing but radio silence is odd. I get that they're likely waiting for the countries to say no concerts allowed due to insurance and whatnot, but like... come on.

  29. Has anyone else thought of Lights Out (21cb bonus track/b-side) as the opposite of See the Light? While See the Light is the optimistic and light at the end of the tunnel kind of song, Lights Out is the opposite. Pessimistic and no light at the end of the tunnel. This can be seen just from the song title which is opposite to See the Light, as well as the dark lyrics "Lights out, here comes the night As the darkness falls over the light Lights out, there goes the day And this fear that comes won't go away" It could be possible that this could be considered an alternate ending to 21st Century Breakdown which ends the album on a much more depressing note. Maybe the band intended for this to be a closer but opted for See the Light to give that light at the end of the tunnel. What are your thoughts?

  31. I did some meditation and can confirm Green Day still has IT. The Trilogy got too much hate - true. You don't get FOAM like I do - true. On what extent the next Green Day album be great - God knows. I would like for it to be more understandable and appreciatable to masses than to myself alone. Because enjoying to masterpieces alone sucks. Take the example - Regretfully Yours - one of the greatest rock songs ever written, having only several thousand views, shows that there is something really wrong going on in this world. But I won't kill myself, I will keep surviving, haters gonna hate.

  32. Everyone calm down (not that anyone is freaking out) but basically omg the hate the Trilogy got and itā€™s my fav record(s) along with American Idiot and Dookie. All Green Day is good Green Day depending on the mood youā€™re in or who you are everyone is different. And you can change too and grow to love a song you initially didnā€™t like at all. My least fav album 21st Century Breakdown and Rev Rad wasnā€™t that exciting (but still better than 21CB). Except for Gloria and Horseshoes and Hand Grenades and ok the whole record is pretty great. Ok never mind I love Rev Rad and 21CB too. My point is: holy I canā€™t believe how much hate the Trilogy got and I think itā€™s one of the best albums and I think a lot of people have changed their minds after the initial listen. Sure thereā€™s some songs on there I will skip every single time but there are some real good songs like the best songs Green Day have ever wrote on those records too. Green Day have not gone to shit. They have released 786587 songs during a pandemic and maybe not every song grabs you. Thatā€™s fine. Theyā€™re grabbing someone else during the time being. Here Comes the Shock is growing on me and I like listening to it but Iā€™m not going to get a tattoo of it or anything. Not every song needs to shake you to the core to mean that Green Day is still great. In conclusion, Green Day have not gone to shit and I am not worried about a thing. P.S. the Longshot rules all.
