I just saw this on Ebay and thought it was pretty freaking awesome. I don't know how legitimate this is, but it's pretty freaking cool. The car also comes with a guitar that's signed by Billie Joe.

MotoeXotica is offering this celebrity-owned 1949 Ford Tudor Sedan. It is a survivor vehicle and will make a nice weekend driver or a collectible piece of music-related memorabilia. This coupe was owned and maintained by lead vocalist for the punk band Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong, and comes with a Letter of Authenticity signed by Michael Manning, production/fleet manager for Green Day. If that wasn’t enough, there is also a signed guitar by Billie Joe himself!

This Ford sedan, painted a custom dark blue metallic, has the 289 V-8, and is mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. This car was driven regularly by Billie Joe Armstrong and even appeared in a music video. The pint is not perfect and as you can see in the photos, the gas filler door has been removed and patched over with steel. A fuel cell sets in the trunk and the windshield wipers are inoperable. The engine also sports dual exhausts, which add a nice Flathead rumble. Ford hubcaps shine brightly from within their American Classic whitewall radial tires. The front bumper shows some pitting and pinpoint rust. Out back, two faceted mock sapphires replaced the original taillight reflectors. The glass is clear all around, including the front and rear vent windows.

Inside, a leopard-print carpet greets the driver as he slides onto the large, comfortable front bench seat. Each door has a 6×9 stereo speaker mounted in it, connected to a JVC AM/FM stereo with CD player and a removable faceplate. An 8,000 rpm tachometer is mounted in the dash where the original clock resided and looks great. A full complement of auxiliary gauges are mounted under the dashboard, replacing the original gauges, which ring the centrally-located speedometer. The original steering wheel is in good shape but the center cap is worn.

The 1949 Ford was the first all-new automobile design introduced by Detroit’s Big Three after World War II, when civilian production had been suspended. After the war ended, the 1946-1948 models from Ford, GM and Chrysler were merely updates of their pre-war models. Popularly called the “Shoebox Ford” for its slab-sided, “pontoon” design, the 1949 Ford is credited both with saving Ford and ushering in modern, streamlined car design with changes such as integrated fenders.

Save for its drive train, this was an all-new car in 1949, with a modern ladder frame supporting a coil spring suspension in front and longitudinal semi-elliptical springs in back. The engine was moved forward to make more room in the passenger compartment and the former “torque tube” was replaced by a modern drive shaft, leading to the differential and rear wheels.

Some competing examples for the Ford Two-door Sedan in the late 1940s included the Chevrolet Styleline Two-door Sedan and the Plymouth Special Two-door Sedan.

This is literally a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to acquire one of the best examples of a celebrity-owned Ford Club Coupe and a genuine signed piece of music memorabilia from one the greatest lead singers of modern times! GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!

Other vehicles associated with Green Day that we have available include a 1976 Honda CB750 café racer owned by bassist Mike Dirnt and a 1974 Honda CB400 Super Sport motorcycle owned by lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong.

Current mileage on the odometer shows 77,238 miles, sold as is with a mileage exempt California title in Billie Joe Armstrong’s name.
VIN: 3DL22G1537

Note: Please see full terms and conditions listed below that pertain to the purchase of any said vehicle, thank you.

:ermm: I remember posting about this car before some months ago. It obviously didn't sell then.

Billie you have too many cars you clearly don't drive and you have to stop screwing them up with leopard print. ;)

I don't want the car, how much for a Billie Joe and a dog?

Whoops sorry, I didn't know about that. Maybe if it keeps not selling they'll drop the price down.

No don't be sorry!  It's weird it didn't obviously sell so it's on eBay now ;)

I wouldn't mind the leopard print, that's coverable or replaceable; what concerns me is the fuel cell and the inoperable wipers.

Reminds me of Seinfeld where George buys Jon Voight's car but finds out the car was actually owned by "John Voight the dentist." Are we sure this isn't Willie Bo Armstrong's car?

Really I can't imagine this car sticking around unsold for that long. It seems like a desirable thing y'know?

You’d be an American Idiot not to want this classic Ford.

Looking back on the classic American car market, it might be easy to overlook the 1949-1951 “Shoebox Ford.” The Chevy Bel Air was arguably the better looking of the two, and remained the more iconic throughout history, despite the fact that the Ford was outselling the Chevy by nearly 10 percent in 1951.

Even though the Ford may have been slightly forgotten, that doesn’t mean it’s still not a classic - and with celebrity ties like the one seen here, that makes it even more the valuable. Previously owned by Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, this 1949 Ford is up for sale on eBay with a ‘Buy It Now’ price of $19,900.

The car comes with 77,238 miles on the odometer, and a letter of authenticity proving it was owned and maintained by Billie Joe himself. Under the hood is an original Ford V8, and it’s paired to a three-speed automatic transmission and a brand-new powertrain.

Aside from the windshield wipers, nearly everything on the car is in working order. The seller claims that it was “driven regularly” by Armstrong, and even appeared in a Green Day music video.

The blue exterior paint could use a touch up, as could the chrome, while the interior was given a very punk-esque leopard print flooring. Even still, it’s a unique piece of history to own - just don’t wait until September ends to bid on this one-of-a-kind classic.

What music video is this person talking about?

I'm wondering about that too. The only car I remember in a Green Day video was the one in Holiday and that certainly wasn't this car.

Yes, think they're trying it on here, unless it was one that drove past in walking contradiction, may have to check that out,  not seen it in ages, or maybe good riddance, there are a couple of cars in there I think.
