Ahhh, thanks! I didn't realize. I assumed it was supposed to be one of his, not only because she said her dad had taught it to her, but because she said that it was about him. And I definitely missed the song credit for The Replacements in the end credits. I guess maybe she just meant she associated the song with her father and his mindset.

And I agree with you about Devil's Kind: I don't think it sounds like the Trilogy at all! :ermm: It doesn't even sound particularly like a Green Day song, apart from Billie's vocals.

As for the lyrics, here's what I can make out so far:

______  stains and cigarettes

_____ is in my pocket

I'm looking for a drink

And a couch to call my own

Give me ______________

And whisper dirty lies

A rapture in your ear

And we'll both be terrified

Bloodshot eyes and _________

We can roll our dice (?) at the devil

Gimme one last shot for a _____ tonight

I'll be your king forever

And you can be my sunshine

We are the devil's kind

We are the devil's kind

We are the devil's kind

And now I won't back down

No, I won't back down

_______ the devil's kind

Take me into the water

And pull me from the slaughter (?)

Because I've got the shakes

And I'm so petrified

Bloodshot eyes _______

We can roll our dice (?) at the devil

Give me one last shot for a _____ tonight

 I'll be your king forever

And you can be my second sign (?)

We are the devil's kind

We are the devil's kind

We are the devil's kind

And now I won't back down

I said I won't back down

We are the devil's kind

We are the devil's kind

We are the devil's kind

And now I won't back down

I said I won't back down

_______ the devil's....

Hope that helps! Feel free to fill in the blanks

Thank you, this makes much more sense

I was listening to devil's kind all day, its awesome.

But I thought the same thing about trilogy songs... until I heard their studio versions.

I'am staying positive tho, I think Green Day still got it.

Really cool. You got most of it, thanks. I hear Frankenstein at the end of the verse above though. It might not be right but it's what I heard first time I listened now I can't hear anything else

Has anyone found either footage or a transcript of the Q&A from Sunday night anywhere?

This does sound right, actually! All I knew was that he definitely said "sunshine" the first time, and he definitely said something else the second time, but I was having the damnedest time making out what it was lol. After listening again, I can definitely hear this :D I'm also going to  say that I really think the first line of the song is either "beer stains and cigarettes" or "tear stains and cigarettes".

No, Billie's hair color is an important part of the Green Day canon and lore...

Devil's Kind is still playing in my head, almost 1 week later! It got a really great, catchy, well constructed melody, and I like the words too. It was so exciting to hear his voice nice at loud in Devil's Kind right at the beginning of the movie. It was exciting to hear him singing something that was new!! Ordinary world is a very simple but effective song in the movie, it's perfect how they use it. When he performed it it did seem almost like a "rough draft", I felt like there could have been another section to it, like a bridge or one more verse. But it was beautiful.

His performance was just amazing. I've never seen Green Day live, this was my introduction to Billie's magical stage presence. My husband, who also plays guitar and has played in bands back in the day, was thoroughly blown away by Billie's performance. He didn't seem nervous at all, he seemed to be fully alive!

He was nervous as hell when I ran into him, positively scared and  shy.

After relistening to this, I must say that I prefer Ordinary world out of these two songs.
