Big Black Dog is one of the few I don't like, at least not yet.  That's okay, we're all different!  But I just did my analytical listen to the album and it was darn near perfect.  If Big Black Dog, Faces of Grief and Downfall do eventually grow on me, it'll be a solid 10!  Right now, I give it a 7.8/10.

And for something a bit different, I'm listening to Rob Thomas's new solo album.  It's supposedly a throwback to a 90s sound so I'm excited about that.

Nice , some of the songs are growers for sure, also Greg Graffin (the singer) does have a few solo (folk music type) albums . They are worth a listen too.

I don't think I have ever heard of Rob Thomas ,but I will so some digging around and give it a listen.

Oh yeah, Greg Graffin is awesome.

Rob Thomas is the lead singer from Matchbox Twenty.

This year keeps getting better and better!  Here's a quick review of my favorite albums from the first part of 2019:

Fever333 - Strength in Numbers

Rehab - Galaga

Weezer (Teal, NOT BLACK)

Badflower - OK I'm Sick

Bad Religion - Age of Unreason

And then the teaser singles for new SLIPKNOT and BLINK-182.

There have been some letdowns of course.  Weezer Black was a headache inducing pile of snot.  Papa Roach sound like a hipster pop church band on their new effort.  Rob Thomas had a good song or two on his latest, but nothing great.  And Avril Lavigne gave us more uninspired drivel.

But the boys up top are killing it!   Here's to another year that rock isn't dead.

Rock N Roll is 70 years+ and going strong.

WOO HOO.

Thanks for the tips.  I need to listen the full Fever333 album but I kind of agree re Rob Thomas album, am not familiar with him but thought this new album was just dull.

I let a release slip past me.  That darn Wikipedia is usually great when it comes to music releases, but it doesn't always have the less-popular bands new releases listed.

So I'm about to catch up with the latest ICP record.

Wish me luck guys.  Hahaha.

Malleus

Julien by Carly Rae Jepsen!

If you haven't heard it yet, make sure to check out her new album Dedicated. Pop album of the year/serious contender for plain ol' AOTY!

"My Sanity" is my absolute favorite track from the album.  It's really powerful and addresses some personal turmoil while tackling some bigger themes at the same time.

Some more highlights are:

"Do the Paranoid Style"

"Age of Unreason"

Today I'm tackling the entire discography of Incubus, but in reverse.

Currently working my way through A Crow Left of Murder.

Not a huge Incubus fan, but they do have a handful of tunes I enjoy.  Hoping to find more today.
