MrLund96
Old news, but fun news. Last week when I put on my dvd with the Danish satire trio Drengene Fra Angora (The Angora Boys), I was surprised to find that they had made an impersonation of Green Day in one of their songs. The second season of their satire show Angora By Night dates back to 2008 and I remember watching it back then. Yet I did not remember this impersonation of my favourite band. In the musicvideo the band is playing in what looks like a warehouse with a green gleam. In the background there is a Danish flag shown. The singer is wearing mascara and a black shirt with a red tie, the bassist has no sleeves and the drumset is spinning around. Sounds familiar? Should do so. The musicvideo looks like (and is most likely) a mix of American Idiot, Jesus Of Suburbia, Holiday and Boulevard Of Broken Dreams. The sound is very close to the American Idiot tone and to me it's as spot on as possible. I find it quite funny and want to share it with the bunch of you. So here it is: Drengene Fra Angora - Tove I've made a rough translation of the lyrics, so you can get an idea about what they're on about. Hope you enjoy it! Drengene Fra Angora - Tove1 When I hit the town to score a girl Then will not be at Crazy Daisy or Buddy Holly2 'Cause girls in the twenties cannot satisfy me She needs to be way over sixty if she's going home with me So now finally I've found a girl She was born just around the First World War Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, To-o-ove Tove, Tove, Tove, To-o-o-ove my Tove-baby To-o-o-ove (Tove) Tove and I moved in together in the end of August Even though my friends think she's a mad, old witch They think it's unnatural that I help Tove with everything I wash her and feed her, honestly is it really that bad? And even though Tove is turning senile I just can not stand for her teethless smile Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, (TOVE!) To-o-ove Tove, Tove, Tove, To-o-o-ove (hey, hey, hey, hey!) my Tove-baby To-o-o-ove (hey, hey, hey, hey!) (Tove, Tove) Tove! Everything for you my Tove-baby Everything for you my Tove-baby "Tove? Tove? Tove?! TOVE!" "What?" "Remember to buy those batteries for your hearing aid." "What?" "HEARING AID!" "Oh..." Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, Tove, (TOVE!) To-o-ove Tove, Tove, Tove, To-o-o-ove (hey, hey, hey, hey!) my Tove-baby To-o-o-ove (hey, hey, hey, hey!) (Tove, Tove) 1 Tove is an old Danish name which is namely thought of as an old womans name. Only 31 Danish girls were named Tove between 1985 and 1996. In Denmark 17,432 are named Tove, yet only around 16 of them are children. 2 Crazy Daisy and Buddy Holly are famous chain-discos in Denmark. Sanity Loan
Wow that's a pretty straight-forward rip-off of American Idiot and Holiday videos.
MrLund96
Yep, it is. I think it's on purpose so it won't just be the fans, but probably most people who don't live under a stone, who will find it funny or recognize them.

Pat1308
Very interesting parody/homage right there! Nuff said This is also funny, but in a different way. The last part of that video demonstrates why you simply do not try to imitate someone as high as balls.
Hermione
Can't say I really get the humour of the song/video, but it's interesting and just seeing anyone dressed up as/impersonating Green Day is enough to amuse me
