Hitchin' a Ride is ear porn and I had to vote for Misery just to keep that unique sound in there, it's a great solo too! I think you've gotta admit that (although some people don't adore it, me included) in the trilogy Green Day had a lot more organic solos... if that's what you want to call them... meaning solos that aren't to the tune of the verse and chorus at all, and they really give them a more diverse sound. Lone Posted July 23, 2013 Share Posted July 23, 2013 Have found myself picking melody over complexity. When I Come Around over The Judges Daughter by a mile. WICA has such a distinctive sound while TJD is forgettable. I'm not a fan of fast, wild guitar solos in pop punk. See, this is my main problem. I do like some solos for how well they're close to the melody but I do like many others for how fast and wild they are. This round is a lot tougher. It generally just seems to be the solo I like more, though that tends to be complex solos over melodic ones, but that's not always the case. BJ is the king of melodic solos. I love this fast solo on Dry Ice but I think the Stray Heart one completely fits the song. I also really love the Kill The DJ one. Stray Heart was a difficult choice. Veeeeeery easy. Static Age vs. 99 Rev? Oh, come on. Static Age FTW Only Of You, obviously. Misery Hitchin' a Ride. It took me half a second to choose. Hard, very hard. Went with Waiting. I'm so sorry for X-Kid, but American Idiot outclasses it all over the place. Scumbag. Letterbomb got a good solo, but I love the Scumbad one 21 Guns easily won this one. Sweet 16. More emotional. Undoubtely, Holiday. Fuck Time's solo is 3 times best than SWTRF's one. One For The Razorbacks is one of my all-time favourites solos, it easily won. Are you kidding me? No one will ever vote against DRB's epic solo. The Grouch wins this round. Give Me Novacaine. Nuff' said. Nuclear Family all over the place. You guys simply can't make me choose between RHS and LYG, but I chose LYG anyway, although it was really hard.
