Is billie from American idiot and up lead or rythem? Or is Jason? Or do they switch off? Because I notice billies guitar is significantly louder than Jason's, and recently billie has been playing solos alot.

Up until very recently Jason was lead and Billie was rhythm, but on a lot of the trilogy songs Billie has been taking the lead. I'd still say Jason is the lead guitarist though, but I love seeing Billie play solos sometimes.

Hey, we have a Q&A thread for smaller questions like this:

Sometimes Billie plays the solos, and sometimes Jason does.

I would still consider Jason "lead", because there are parts where Billie's singing and Jason plays lead parts.

This is pretty much like asking who the lead singer of the Beatles is. They take turns, so there's no real "set" person for lead guitar.

Exactly what Lauren said. Please use the link she posted for future questions like the one asked in this thread :)
