I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place so mods feel free to move if not.

Does anybody know if I'll get in trouble/have audio disabled if I've used a Green Day song in a video on YouTube?

I've put in the description what the song is and rights reserved to Warner Reprise etc.

I'm traveling in Australia at the moment and due to there being an 11 hour time difference between here and the UK, have decided to leave video diaries to let people at home know how I'm doing and what I'm up to.  I'm 2 weeks late on the first video so have kinda just sped it up and played X-Kid over the top of it :P

Thanks for your help.

P.S. here is the video if anyone is interested

I don't think they'll be too much trouble! :) You can probably put a Green Day song in a video.

No, you will just get an ad inserted in the video, but it may be locked out in Germany (YT had/have some copyright problems in Germany).

I post some of my mountain bike rides on YT and always use music from my collection as backing tracks. I never include credits (too lazy or forget), use artists from the 60s through to today and that includes Green Day, with no issues.

I dunno...you might have some trouble, but I think if you put who the song is by it should be fine. I swear I hate youtube and their copyright...they act like people are saying the song belongs to them or something.

I upload some Green Day official music videos and I always put lyrics to the video so that way it's for educational purposes

If you use clean Green Day music (studio versions) in a video, Warner will probably mute the audio, and or give you a copyright strike for using music that's not yours. I you use Live footage I don't think there

will be any problems. Hope it helps.

I know a bit about  this cause i'm a YT Partner.

I have never had that happen when using copyrighted music for a backing track in a YT video.

However YT seems random in their credits when I use live, bootleg or unreleased material; nothing, wrong song credited and sometimes even correct.

It only becomes an issue if you wanna become a YouTube partner.
