The Horrible Crowes is a two piece project with lead singer and guitarist of The Gaslight Anthem, Brian Fallon and his guitar tech, Ian Perkins.Fallon announced its formation on January 20, 2011 on his blog, explaining that "the name comes from a poem called the "Twa Corbies", which means, "two crows".Their debut album "Elsie" was released on September 6, 2011.

Brian about "Elsie": "These songs are very dark; they're like hymns for lonely people, it’s really a trip through a breakdown and that descent into madness and hopefully redemption."

So, what do you think? Hate them? Love them?

I think their album is perfect, I don't have the urge to skip anything on that record.

I love every song on that record. It captures that feeling of "descent into madness and hopefully redemption" perfectly. Although I feel that I have to be in a certain dark/mellow/brooding sort of mood to fully appreciate it.

I wish I could have seen them live, because I feel like The Horrible Crowes was sort of a one-off thing.

I've learned how to put videos in there, hence:

I'm so excited to see this! Especially since I never got the chance to see them when they played shows around here two years ago. REGRET.

Bump. Ugh I love love love this band lately. Elsie's a perfect autumn album.

I heard Live at the Troubadour for the first time the other day and it's so great. They didn't even cut out Brian's stage banter  and you can really tell how intimate of a show it was because you can hear stuff people in the crowd are saying.
