Fall Out Boy

I used the search and apparently there really is no topic for Fall Out Boy.

They're finally off their hiatus now! Well, it was bound to happen. I'm glad, that means I finally have the chance to see them live.

What do you think of them? The only thing I really dislike is that Pete Wentz comes across as a douche. I don't like how he's always in the center of everything just because he's hot. But I love his lyrics, so oh well. My favorite albums are Take This To Your Grave and From Under the Cork Tree, I'm not that big of a fan of the newer ones.

My favorite song is Sugar We're Going Down. And this is my favorite performance of them:

Man, they had so much energy! I hope they will still have it when they go on tour this year.

We usually talk about them in the pop punk club.

I don't get why it's fall out and not fallout, that's just dumb.

Kinda glad to see they're back :) Even if it's because I would like to see them live once maybe. You know, as I used to listen to their albums a lot years ago. I still like their music, but I don't listen to their music as much I did at first.

I can and I will. Since the band is so to speak dead, all there is left to complain is the stupid name. It should have been fallout, toxic waste and all the happy innuendos that comes along with it.

If there is a comeback on the horizon, I'll enjoy it. If not, I's recommend just going to the pop punk place.

I took that as a hint they're playing Skate & Surf more than anything else?

And in regards to a reunion, I believe POZ and Jason Tate who both say it's happening.

Can't stand them, I have tried to get into them, the singer's voice just annoys me too much :/

I also thought this meant they are going to play at Skate & Surf.

Uh, even if the band was dead forever, we could still talk about the music? What the hell. :ermm:

Yeah, I have a pretty profound respect for Fall Out Boy. Sure they were really popular, but they caught a lot of flak from the musical community and, well, everyone who didn't like them. The thing I love about them though is that they owned that. "Thriller" was a great example of this. They did their super pop-punk thing way better than most of the imitators they spawned throughout the rest of the decade. So I did come to enjoy them...very clever band and I wouldn't mind them coming back for another round.

I hope there won't be a reunion. Blink did that and Neighbourhoods was a terrible album. Fall Out Boy were best with Take This To Your Grave and From Under the Cork Tree. It started going down after that. If they come back I won't be expecting a great album.

I do love these guys though. I think Pat and Pete's early days songwriting was brilliant. Simple pop punk songs but with such wit and lyric intelligence that you didn't see in most other bands.

Lines like "you want apologies, girl you might hold your breath until your breathing stops forever. The only thing you'll get is this curse on your lips, I hope they taste of me forever." are a brilliant mix of humour and emotion that they did so well.

Thriller was great, I loved the message to the fans in that song. But overall I loved the original Fall Out Boy sound. It was pop punk, but just better. For me they were set apart from most other similar bands around the time. When they started to be more creative and experimental I didn't love it so much.

One great memory I have thanks to Fall Out Boy is buying a ticket for me and my younger brother to see them in 07. He's 16 now and listens to dance, techno and all that shit but for a few years I had him on good music that I enjoyed too :) I felt so mature and like such a good older brother. He couldn't see so I had him on my shoulders for most of the gig, we rocked out together and I bought him some merch afterwards. That's probably the best memory I have with Adam. :)

Fall Out Bay, besides Green Day, was one of the first bands I got into. From Under the Cork Tree is an album I still listen to today and I love it. My favorite song by them is Thriller from Infinity On High, and I got to say, they create some great lyrics. Oh and Patrick has an outstanding voice.
