Latest Album You Bought

Joe.

The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses. One of those albums, like never mind the bollocks, that's just timeless. Sounds just as fresh and exciting as it did 30 years ago.

Speaking of Never Mind The Bollocks...

People said the remaster wasn't noticeably different, I say they're bloody deaf.

Joe.

Whilst I'm sure they'll be ignored along with Idles on here, Fontaine's D.C have released an incredible post-punk album titled 'Dogrel'. Fucking give it a listen along with new Idles album. Bands like these are the future of the genre and why kids go these club shows rather than queue for hours to see Green Day

That Dude

It's been a few years since I went out to a store and picked up a CD.  Rev Rad was probably the last one.  But with a new release from Rehab (a band I feel a special connection with), I figured I would treat myself and go out and buy it in store.

I ended up not having any luck.  Went to a record store.  No new releases on CD anywhere to be found.  Okay.  They sell mostly used cds and vinyl, no biggy.

Went to Best Buy.  No music WHATSOEVER.  Not in store, not online, NOTHING.   Screw that place.  NO MUSIC AT ALL???

So brokenhearted, I decided to buy it on amazon.   NO PHYSICAL COPY ON AMAZON!

Now, I realized that Rehab are not a well known band, but really?  Can't get the cd anywhere on the internet or in person?   Is this going to happen with bigger releases as well?

I'll be mad as heck if this happens on that glorious Friday when GREEN DAY 13 comes out.

Now, after talking with my music consultant-coworker, I learned that our local Barnes and Noble has an amazing music section with every format.  But these are scary times and it sucks getting old.

I can already hear myself trying to explain the ancient concept of MP3s to my son (born in 2018) and him laughing about how lame that is, because by the time he can talk, streaming will probably be left in the lurch for music that shoots straight into your nervous system or something.   Haha.

I'll do my best to explain all the pros and cons of each medium.....

BUT ANYWAY.

Galaga by Rehab is a solid effort by a unique band.   They started with an ICP/Rap sound, then shifted to Rock.  Their last two albums had more of a Country flavor to them and this one, while a return to their Rap roots, has a strange Jazz influence running through it and is pretty cool.   Also a lot of religious imagery in the lyrics and no cursing whatsoever.  I'm not a huge rap fan, but when these guys spit fire, I let myself burn.   Some of the most creative lyrics and wordplay I've ever heard.  It gives me chills.

Kudos to my #29 favorite band for the return with a new lineup.   Doing awesome things!

Another compliment to these guys.  Most of the time, even local bands seem kind of unreachable.  Not Rehab.  On their OFFICIAL facebook they respond to comments, messages, and even video chat with fans.  They have reached out to fans that couldn't speak with them at the shows.

Real good people in this band.  Check them out, they are SO MUCH MORE THAN "The Bartender Song".

I saw them once a few years ago.  I'll definitely be on the lookout for a nearby show.
