Hey GDC, 2013 is fast approaching and I would assume most of you have some thing to work on by the start of the year. What's you new year's resolution? C'mon, share. We might inspire others. Well for me I would totally want to lose weight by working out more and eating less. I'm not horridly obese but being healthy would be nice. Also I would like to be more positive this year since I'm gonna graduate this march.

I don't really believe in resolutions, but I think next year I need to make more of an effort when it comes to keeping up a healthy lifestyle. Need to quit smoking for a start, and start eating better. Perhaps most importantly, I need to learn how to save money, I want to do some more travelling in the new year but I can't seem to make a paycheck stretch long enough to save for it.

Quitting smoking was my last year's resolution and it was successful. But I know you can also do it, Good luck.

I don't have any. If you really want to stop or start something, what's the point of waiting until January 1st to do it?

I'm not really sure too, But maybe some people like me are into that. Probably because of doing resolutions almost every year and it's becoming a habit by most people.

- Lose a couple of stone

- Which obviously ties in with eat healthy, go to the gym lots

- Go to my lectures and seminars, write assignments earlier than the night before they're due, do work that is set, read the books from the reading list and generally put a little effort into my degree

- Go to lots of small gigs and hang out in the pubs I like rather than just let my housemates drag me to shit dance music clubs every night.

- Drink a little less so my hangovers are far less violent

- Visit my friend from home, who also lives in Newcastle, a lot more

- Keep my room tidy

- Get really ace at fingerpicking on the guitar

- Get up in the morning rather than waste my days away in bed

I love the idea of New Years Resolutions. They rarely work for me, but this year I'm determined and I think I can do most of them. I found when I was living at home I couldn't really stick to them because I was dragged down by what my family were doing, but being at uni is really great for setting my mind to something and actually doing it. In my head, most of these resolutions fit into one for me; just be less lazy. If I can change my mindset to that, then I think achieving lots of different resolutions and just being generally a better person is gonna be possible.

I admire the optimism but really isn't it far more likely to set yourself one of those goals at a time and focus on it?

Nahhh, the only time I ever do anything is if I suddenly say, right I'm gonna sort myself out. It's pretty much two main ones that have to be changed now, I can't carry on being shit with my uni or I'm gonna get chucked out, and if I don't start being healthy I'm gonna get fat. They're the two important, and difficult, ones really and the others are just some little things I'd like to do. Stuff like visiting my friend more and improving my guitar are never going to be a chore, just things I want to do a bit more to be happier.

Trust me, If your going to be better with the guitar you will be very happy. It's very fulfilling when you master you first solo. :)

I'm going to spend time with people who make me happy, and I'm going to let go of the ones who don't care.
Make the most of my time in the USA.
And most of all, I'm going to make 2013 the happiest year of my life. Hopefully, a year from now, I will look back on a year full of surprises, crazy moments, awesome memories.

Oh I know, I've been playing most of my life and it's so satisfying, I just feel I've been neglecting it a little for the past couple of years and haven't actually improved.

-Get my grades back up at school and actually start thinking about my future.

-Get a better work ethic and stop getting distracted so easily.

-Find a job.

-Pursue my hobby.

And that's about all I can think of now... The only reason I'm saving them until next year is because I'm still a lazy ass

-Oh, and get fit. That's something I need to do. Probably wont, though.

I think you just lack motivation to get fit, I hope you find one.

Eat healthier. Get a better grade from PE. Learn to play guitar better. I guess that's all.

I know it seems silly that we make these New Year's Resolutions, to start Jan 1st, rather than just start right away, but there's something about the New Year that just feels like a new start, like a clean slate or something. I don't know......

I want to save more money so I can finally do some travelling. Plus, the Christmas bills were quite sobering, I really need to cut back on my shopping habit.  :S surely it would be better to save money and be able to go on an amazing trip and have those memories forever, than to buy another pair of jeans that I totally don't need...

Good luck with your resolutions, everyone! :)

- Go to the gym at least twice a week at uni (already doing this but definitely need to keep it up)

- Be averaging a first at the end of the year
