30STM are a bit small to headline, I thought?

Didn't think they had an audience outside angsty 15 year olds :P

Eh, they were sub-headliners in 2011 and They've got a new album out next year.

How did they get that big without me noticing

I've never heard a song of theirs on the radio, except Kerrang or one of those. And I couldn't name one.

I'd have guessed the Foos, but they're on a break. Maybe blink-182?

Possibly. And maybe paramore because they've got a new album out in March/April

Again, I'm not sure that Paramore would be big enough to headline. Definite sub-headliner though.

Mumford & Sons seem a likely choice for headlining.

Don't think I'll be going this year, have been the last 3 but not impressed with eminem! It seems to be going downhill.

Aye, Paramore headlined 2 years ago, and subheadlined this year. Keep up. :P

I actually have recently developed a soft spot for Eminem. Weird.

I know they did, but they haven't replicated the success of RIOT, and that's why they probably wouldn't be main headliners.

Biffy Clyro are a solid bet for headlining too.

ooo. I'd like that.

Biffy, Mumford and Green Day. That would be pretty awesome. Doubt it'll be GD seeing as their doing a stadium show earlier in the summer.

Haha they won't headline. They're not even headlining Download.

Eminem is the best choice of headliner they have made for years. Reading and Leeds have always been the 'alternative' festival. Only morons thing it's the 'rock festival' - that is Download and Sonisphere. Reading hasn't been exclusively rock since the 90's.

Mumford are a decent call for headliners but I'd like to think it won't be them after just two albums, one of which is dire. There will be one big current rock band, and one 'old favourite' rock band to balance out Em, I reckon.

Yeah, I'd definitely go to see that, Biffy and GD are my two all time favs.

Biffy, blink, and GD would be just incredible.

Foos headlined last year, Blink three years ago. I'm not sure if it's too soon or not for Blink to come back?

Biffy look likely candidates then.

Can't think of a big old favourite band touring at the moment. Unless the Rolling Stones give it a shot.

They're releasing an EP soon, so it'd be good timing.

Ah right. Um, not too many other options off the top of my head. Maybe Madness, they're doing a comeback tour, aren't they?

Fucking love the Pumpkins, alright? Seminal band.

Madness? nah. They were 4th from headline two years back. They wouldn't be headlining. At this year's festival they said two of the 3 had been booked, so it's tough to call.

I was just joking, haha, they're one of my all time faves too.

I was thinking Springsteen might have another go, but I don't think he's touring next year.

Ultimate line up would have: Avenged, MCR, Slipknot, Alkaline Trio, Frank Turner, Halestorm, In This Moment, The Blackout, Mumford, Green Day and Biffy on it. Never ever going to happen at festival anywhere.

Oi, the Boss is the Boss, don't fuck with him :P

I'd love to see someone random like Tom Waits or Black Sabbath headline. I saw Elvis Costello earlier in the year and he was fucking fantastic.

Except for Frank Turner and Mumford, that is a conceivable  Download Festival lineup.
