At first I was kind of disappointed with the trilogy, but the more I listen, the more I love it.. I dont think they gave us enough time to actually break the new albums in. But I've had this idea that you could create a classic GD album out of a mixture of songs from each and then I found this topic and worked out one of the possible track lists of a solid green day album. I change my playlist almost everyday, so this is just my most recent idea.

Im sorry, I know it may be well-intentioned, but topics like "Your trilogy album" just seem a bit ungrateful to me. Kind of like saying "your American Idiot" album or "your Dookie album". It's the work of an artist, respect it, and since it's Green Day, be fucking grateful for it.

They aren't.

What's wrong with this? Everyone respects the trilogy for what they have done, but we like to share stuff no-one really cares about cause it's fun and we find enjoyment in it. That's cause we love/like this band, so we do not care a bit that no one cares. So why is a thread like this even slightly ungrateful to Green Day, to the fans, to anyone in the entire world? I just don't see it.

Yes, the albums themselves are a work of art and they should be respected as they are, but why is a topic where you can post in your opinion the best songs of the trilogy and put them in a coherent order ungrateful?

Anyways, I changed my "best of" album a bit cause I had to include Brutal Love and also the order of the songs we're not the best in the original one, so here is the new one:

1. 99 Revolutions

2. Stay the Night

3. Angel Blue

4. Stray Heart

5. Lazy Bones

6. Sex, Drugs & Violence

7. Ashley

8. Baby Eyes

9. Troublemaker

10. Let Yourself Go

11. Dirty Rotten Bastards

12. Brutal Love

13. Nuclear Family

14. X-Kid

15. Missing You

(Length: 54:40)

(my previous one can be found here http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/91341-your-uno-dos-tre-album/page-5#entry5028164)

EDIT: Included S,D&V.

You've entirely missed the point of this thread.

I gave this a lot of thought, and I decided if I were in on the process, I would push for a double album. It would allow more songs to get through than normal, but maybe cutting a bit of the fat off from the trilogy. I thought the going to the party/at the party theme could have been combined.

The Party

1) See You Tonight

2) Crushing Bastards (Loss of Control)

3) Lazy Bones

4) Let Yourself Go

5) Lady Cobra

6) Fell For You

7) Troublemaker

8) Makeout Party

9) Stop When The Red Lights Flash

10) Fuck Time

11) Baby Eyes

12) Wow! That's Loud

The Hangover

1) Missing You

2) X-Kid

3) Carpe Diem

4) Drama Queen

5) Stray Heart

6) Amanda

7) Brutal Love

8) 8th Avenue Serenade

9) 99 Revolutions

10) Rusty James

11) Dirty Rotten Bastards

12) The Forgotten

Don't be so precious. They released a ton of songs, obviously not all of them were going to be worthwhile, some obviously took about 5 minutes to write (looking at you Stop When The Red Lights Flash). They're not untouchable gods, they're just four guys that make catchy pop-punk songs.

I'm making this 13 songs, since See You Tonight isn't a full song in my opinion

1. See You Tonight (since it's the only real intro song in the trilogy)

2. Stop When the Red Lights Flash

3. Let Yourself Go

4. Ashley

5. Loss of Control

6. 99 Revolutions

7. Carpe Diem

8. Fuck Time

9. Stray Heart

10. Missing You

11. X-Kid

12. Dirty Rotten Bastards

13. Amy (since I loved how Dos closed with this)

It's got a bit of a progression to it, it goes from the songs that are more about independence and rebellion at the beginning to the songs about love and going crazy about the person you love at the end, with Dirty Rotten Bastards in there to show the full extent of the madness the person expieriences.

Missing You

Loss of Control

Troublemaker

99 Revolutions

So Yeah, i Havent put alot of thought into the progression of the album, just how the songs fit together one another.
Intro:

1. See you Tonight
2. Dirty Rotten Bastards (See You Tonight/Dirty Rotten Bastards Single)

Part 1:
3. Fuck time

4. 8th Avenue Serenade

5. Nuclear Family
6. Makeout Party (Single)

7. Stop When the Red Lights Flash

8. Kill the DJ (Single)

9. Amy

Part 2:

10. Let Yourself Go (Single)

11. Stray Heart

12. Stay the Night

13. Missing You

14. Sex Drugs and Violence

15. Oh Love

16. Drama Queen

Outro:

17. Lady Cobra

18. Wow! That's Loud (Single)

I kinda like the See You Tonight/DRB thing everyone's got going on so i kept that as an intro, i put Nuclear Family, Makeout Party and Stop When the Red Lights Flash together because those three are some great Party songs. I decided to end part 1 with Amy, because it's a good ending song, just never felt like it's the end of an album. I've used Let Yourself Go and Stray Heart as the first songs in part 2 to kinda bring some power back after Amy, and i really like the way that Stay the Night, Missing You and Sex, Drugs and Violence Progresses into Each other, i've used Drama Queen as the end to part 2, because I wanted to use the Acoustics as endings, and for the Outro, i put Wow! That's Loud because I always felt that that was the real ending of Dos.

Bonus Track Ep:

1. Brutal Love

2. Lazy Bones

3. Loss of Control

4. Fell for You

5. Nightlife

6. Walk Away

These are 6 songs i would have liked to include but there's not enough room for it, so I made a Bonus Track Ep

B-sides album:

1. 99 Revolutions

2. Carpe Diem

3. Troublemaker

4. Baby Eyes

5. Ashley

6. Rusty James

7. Angel Blue

8. A Little Boy Named Train

9. Wild One

10. Amanda

11. Sweet 16

12. X-Kid

13. The Forgotten

And this is just the rest of the songs, put in order. Alot of these songs i don't like that much.

2 songs from ¡Uno!, 4 from !Dos! and 6 from ¡Tré!

Had a definite first 11 but got stuck choosing number 12 because it was so close between so many songs!

Lady Cobra, Nuclear Family, Wow! That's Loud, Drama Queen, Let Yourself Go, Troublemaker, Kill The DJ and some others were all intensely close! They could be my b-sides. :)

I made a new one, which I think works pretty well. I love the idea of pairing See You Tonight with DRB as an opener for the album, but DRB is an epic closer, so I put the pair at the end and instead opened the album with Stay the Night, which works extremely well. I listen to this "album" all the time and I think it sounds like a solid Green Day album.

1. Stay The Night

2. 8th Avenue Serenade

3. Lazy Bones (my favorite from Dos)

4. Kill The DJ

5. Makeout Party

6. Stop When The Red Lights Flash

7. Amy

8. X-Kid

9. Sweet 16

10. Loss of Control (favorite from Uno)

11. Stray Heart

12. Troublemaker

13. Baby Eyes

14. Drama Queen

15. See You Tonight

16. Dirty Rotten Bastards (favorite from Tre)

Singles/B sides:

-Kill The DJ/Nightlife

-Lazy Bones/Walk Away

-X-Kid/Rusty James

Please give it a listen and let me know what you think :)

I think these albums are fantastic as they are now and i don't agree with the statement which said by a lot of critics of these albums that they had to make just one album instead of these 3. Yes, there are songs what beter than the others in the trilog. But this is my sort of the songs from the trilogy: fuck time lazy bones makeout party stray heart wow! That's load! Baby eyes x-kid sex, drugs & violence dirty rotten bastards the forgotten 99 revolutions drama queen angel blue fell for you carpe diem oh love let yourself go walk away i still think.those songs wouldn't be so epic withoit the others in the albums :))

If I was Green Day's Manager, I would have deffiately put out a FOXBORO HOT TUBS album in 2011 when they we doing very well with their Musical :) It would have been:

(Brilliant)

Brutal Love

Fell For you

Fuck Time

Don't Stop When The Red LIghts Flash

Wild One

Makeout Party

Troublemaker

Lazy Bones

Lady Cobra

Wow That's Loud!

Ashley

Amanda

Amy

this would have been the green day album Released Early Dec 2012, which I think would have sold over 300,000 the first week and been more critically successful as well... and I would have put out Stray Heart as the first single, The Forgotten as the second, Stay the Night and Let Yourself Go for possible 3rd and 4th

Stay the Night

Carpe Diem

Little Boy Named Train

Sex Drugs and Violents

Rusty James

Let Yourself Go

Baby Eyes

Stray Heart

Oh Love

Missing You

X-Kid

Walk Away

Dirty Rotten Bastards

99 Revolutions

The Forgotten

See You Tonight, Nightlife and Kill the DJ would NOT have been put out, and Nuclear Family, Loss of Control, 8th ave serenade, Angel Blue, drama queen and sweet 16 would have been pretty strong B-Sides :)

I've posted my "Best Of..." track list before, but here I go again.

I tried to make mine flow like an album should: Starts with a bang, softens up, gets faster and grittier, then a bit softer again, a little harder, and then a mix of epic and ballad at the end. Since I created this track list, I've only listened to the Trilogy like this.

1: Nuclear Family
2: 8th Avenue Serenade
3: Rusty James

4: Missing You

5: Makeout Party

6: Ashley

7: Fuck Time

8: Stray Heart
*Anecdote: I like putting Stray Heart after Fuck Time because it kind of tells a mini-story. At first, wild, reckless, having a lot of sex, and then regret and sorrow for the actions and how they affected loved ones
9: Drama Queen

10: Lazy Bones

11: X-kid

12: 99 Revolutions

13: Dirty Rotten Bastards
14: Brutal Love

15: The Forgotten

Good tracklist. I'd just remove tracks 12-14 and replace them with Kill the DJ, Sweet 16 and Rusty James. Otherwise an awesome list!
